1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Jonas Brothers Swap on: September 14, 2008 02:23:12 AM
My daughter is absolutely insane over the Jonas Brothers. We've been to 3 concerts together and she's only 7. Her bedroom walls no longer show the princess mural, but one poster after another of each brother.

Would anyone be interested in a small Jonas Brothers Swap. I'm thinking buttons, stenciled t-shirts / tote bags, altered composition books, notecards, pendants, etc.

Jordan's 8th birthday is the 25th, but her party (her 1st slumber party) is November 15th so I'd like to have the swap due by then. Any interest???

If there isn't enough, I'd love to do several personal swaps.

2  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / in need of Craft Bazaar ideas that sell for under $10 on: November 08, 2007 06:11:39 PM
So here's my dilema. I am selling at a holiday bazaar at my daughters elementary school this year. Basically the kids come to "shop" with money sent from a home, a list of who to shop for and how much to spend per person. My items need to be priced under $20 and I would rather have a variety of different things than alot of one item. I would like to have most items under $10 and was told that $2 - $5 items do really well.

I am already making:
-aprons (over $5 item)
-picture frames (over $5 item)
-felt tree, mitten and snowman ornaments
-wood picture frame ornaments (I bought at Michael's)

I was told to bring "dad" items and am stuck on that at the moment.  I have an embroidery machine and would love to use that for dad things, but can't come up with how to use it. Any ideas of quick and inexpensive? I sooooo appreciate any help Smiley
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Ga-Ga for Garlands on: July 03, 2007 07:20:04 PM
Would anyone be interested in a garland swap, kind of like this:

You would have one partner. Your garland can be made out of fabric or paper. I was thinking of a questionaire with things like:
favorite themes
favorite colors
favorite phrase or words
favorite patterns (ie: polka dots, stripes, hearts, etc.)

I was thinking of an early September deadline with a 7 day sign up. Any thoughts?
4  EUROPE / FRANCE / Visiting Paris for the first time on: April 13, 2007 06:55:42 AM

5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Needlebook swap?? on: February 25, 2007 09:30:24 AM
I am addicted to handmade pin cushions and needlebooks lately. There have been several rounds of a pin cushion swap but I haven't seen any swap for needlebooks.

So, Would there would be any interest in a handmade needlebook swap. You would have one partner and you would make one needlebook catered to their likes .

Any thoughts
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / transfer a pattern to felt on: February 16, 2007 06:39:34 AM
Does anyone have any idea how I can do this? Transfer paper didn't work Sad
7  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / FELT SWAP on: January 17, 2007 07:53:07 PM
I am completely addicted to felt . I just recently bought a needle felting tool and am finding the same joy with roving as sewing with craft felt. I have two ideas that I thought I would throw out there for a swap.

Swap idea 1: Felt Mascots (as in little stuffies you find in Japanese craft magazines)

Swap idea 2: Felt Fun ( making anything as long as it is made out of felt or is felted)

I know there was a felt mascot / stuffie swap back in November but it wasn't specific for just felt items.

Any thoughts. I would look to do sign ups within the next few days and have send outs in February.
