21  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Brangelina Hat on: March 15, 2006 09:36:10 AM
Cut & sew rectangles from a recycled cardigan?  Hmm....
That is an intriguing hat.
22  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Reposted! Completed Sexie with seeecret bra! on: March 15, 2006 09:33:49 AM
You are a genius! Smiley
Your Sexie looks lovely.  I can't see the rolling either, but I agree that a crocheted border would look nice.  If you can't crochet, sewing a strand of pre-strung beaded trim to the bottom edge might also work.
23  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Why is there so much buzz? on: December 29, 2005 01:46:21 PM
That is the cutest bee I've ever seen.  What an adorable little face!
24  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Butterfly a-long (Rowan 37) on: November 03, 2005 07:38:39 PM
Juniper, I'm in a similar pickle.  I can't justify the $20 Rowan - I prefer to blow would-be food and rent money on actual yarn.
I've been looking through several stitch guides & I've found similar patterns to the lace used in Butterfly. The Barbara Walker books and  The New Knitting Stitch Library by Lesley Stanfield seem the most promising.
25  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Knit AIMEE with me? on: October 09, 2005 06:31:34 PM
I'm thinking about it. I can't afford the Kidsilk Haze right now, but I've been looking for a substitute.  If I find one, I'm in.  Smiley
I was going to use Madil Kid Seta (much cheaper) but my LYS stopped carrying it. Gasp!
I bought Vintage Style, but I haven't decided if I want to keep it.  The patterns are nice, but the gauges are rather small.
26  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Another flutter top! on: October 09, 2005 12:08:48 PM
It's gorgeous! I love the color, too.
If only I could crochet...
27  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: hero worship top on: October 07, 2005 11:11:47 AM
I love it!
Great color choices...  "Kill Bill"? Smiley
28  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: September Magknits is up ! on: October 03, 2005 02:57:31 PM
Their last two issues have been awesome! I've always liked Magknits, but it seems the patterns have become much more interesting lately.
I'm trying to keep off that site- I already have a backlog of projects.   But nippertails & the caution scarf (from the last issue) are tempting me...
29  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Movie Knits on: September 28, 2005 11:29:10 PM
Yay, Melidomi! Smiley
I'm planning to start Josephine soon, so I've rented "Big Fish" to check out the sweater in action.
The number of movies I've chosen based on knitterly things now borders on the ridiculous.  Most have been good, but I agree about "Sweet November."  The shawls were fabulous, but the script made me want to attack the tv with my knitting needles.
30  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: I heartily recommend No Idle Hands on: September 28, 2005 11:25:26 PM
Cool! Smiley  Which sweater did you copy?
And thanks for mentioning knitting flappers.  I'm considering being a flapper for Halloween- and now I have a perfect excuse to bring my knitting to the party.  Just going for historical accuracy, of course.
