1  Lunch Love Notes in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by dabdalla on: March 23, 2010 07:58:06 PM
I thought of a great idea about putting "love notes" in your children's lunch box. They are a great way to let your child know that they are very special. It can help build self esteem! Just seeing those notes makes them feel great about themselves. Its like receiving a "good job" on their homework. Here is a cute "Lunch Note" I made. Maybe I'll begin with making sets of 5, one for everyday they go to school?

2  Bingo Cards! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by dabdalla on: March 23, 2010 07:55:15 PM
The idea of Bingo is fairly simple and because it is a game usually played by adults, I decided to make Bingo cards to use at my work party. My associates have been working so hard all season and I thought it would be so much fun to have a little get together for them. I haven't decided on the food yet but everyone on my team is invited!

So after we play a little Bingo...

The winner will receive a gift basket.

I call it the "Work Survival Kit"

Contents include:

1 Bottle of Yellow Tail wine

1 Pack of rabbit playing cards

1 Pack of Jolly Ranchers

1 Pack of small microwavable popcorn

1 Can of Pringles

1 Pack of multi-color gel pens

1 Lint Roller

Everything you need to survive a work day/week huh? Although I DO NOT allow drinking on the job, I thought the idea was funny!

I made these cards myself on Photoshop and printed them on white cardstock

3  Fun Mini-Book and Candy party invites! IMAGE HEAVY in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by dabdalla on: March 09, 2010 05:23:40 PM
For my daughters 1st birthday party, I made these mini books that in put inside the childrens goody basket.
I simply took a template (which i will show you later) and cut in the right places and then folded it.. Here it is:

And here is the template i used:

And after i put them in the baskets, i wraped them in clear celophane and made this small card:

I wrapped that in red celophane and tied the ends with bright colored small rubber bands and here is what i got:

So the final product that i gave to the children that came to the party was this:

And just to tie in the theme, i did the same thing for the party invites. I made the party invite on white cardstock and them wrapped them in red celophane and tied them with colored rubber bands and here is the final result:

4  How to make a Coloring Book - Photoshop Tutorial in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by dabdalla on: March 05, 2010 06:14:52 PM
This idea is great for many occasions. You can use it for a kids birthday party. Hand out several of these coloring books and some crayons and the kids will be kept busy for a while. You can make the coloring book pages out of pictures of anything. You can even use pictures of the birthday kid. Another idea is to make a coloring book for a next door neighbor, to bring along with you on a long car ride, the possibilities are endless.

In this example, i'm going to show you how to make a page of a coloring book for a wedding (great way to keep the kids busy- this would be given to the parents with kids by the maid of honor).

Step 1. Open your Photoshop Program. I have photoshop elements which works just as well.

Step 2. Open a picture of your choice. This can relate to the theme of what your using the coloring book for. You can find images off the internet to use as well. I used a picture I took for my wedding.

Step 3. Go to the menu bar and chose "Filter" - "Sketch" - then "Photocopy". Look at the picture below for a close up.

Step 4. You will see this window pop up. This is the window in which you can adjust the picture to look more like a coloring book. The more detailed the image, the more detailed the black and white outline will be. It might be best to use images with less color or less detail. If you did pic an image like this, thats okay. You can adjust the detail level and darkness on the right side of this window. Look at the picture below for a close up.

Step 5. After you adjust the settings you desire, press "Okay". You should then see your final image ready to go, just like i have the picture below.

Step 6. Go to the menu bar above and choose "File" and "Save as". Save your new image at the location you desire. DO NOT chose "Save" instead of "save as" this will save over your original photo.

Step 7. You are done! You can now repeat this process to have as much pages as you want in your coloring book. You can even get creative and create a coloring book cover from photoshop or microsoft word.

Good Luck!

5  Wedding Invitations - want feedback in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by dabdalla on: March 04, 2010 06:22:40 PM
Hey everyone!

just just posted "party invites" today and now im posting this to get some feedback. Im trying to start my own stationery business and i just started playing with my klic n kut machine and using the pen tool. So everything is my own design and uses ink from various different kinds of pens.

Here is a few pictures of the first wedding invite i have done. I just want some feedback. My niche is the process of how its made. When your holding it in person, it looks more special.

you can comment on the design, ask me questions on the process, anything! anything to help me get better!

Also, What do you think of my photo skills?

6  Party Invite! in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by dabdalla on: March 04, 2010 10:42:38 AM
I am throwing a party for a few associates at my work. They have worked very hard to make sales plan and actually achieved a huge increase beyond the plan. They deserve to have a get together thrown for them because they are the reasons why I'm happy at work. The party invite was done on a 4.25 x 5.5 notecard. It was done on my Klic n Kut. This is a die cutting machine, similiar to the cricut but the Klic n Kut allows you to make your own designs as well as take images and fonts and use them for die cutting. But the process i used here is with a pen tool. Instead of the blade, I inserted several different pens and this is the effect i got. It is very much like a printer but the look of this is much more personal and it looks like more love and card went into it. Its hard to see a close up from these pics though.

This is the front

This is the back

Hope you guys enjoy!
