1  Re: I Love Monsters Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Glamis on: June 09, 2017 01:40:13 AM
I received some days ago but have been to a festival and sick afterwards (Im old). Soooooooory!!

Craftylittlemonkey made me this awesome, superwell made Mothy-man ( I at least think he is a man, lots of chest hair  Wink):

He is so cool and packed and loaded with little details. The wings/cape is wired and his legs have button joints and are posable. Must have taken forever to  yarn wrap all 6 legs. I like his speckled butt

He has real feather for antennae and some additional organs made from wire and rhinstones that look like proboscis but might be an additional pair of atennae. His smirk is just adorable! He also features a loop for hanging.

Thank you so very much craftylittlemonkey for swapping with me and sending me this gem.

I received three Monster necklaces from gala_apples today. She picked up three of my major themes: Zombies, cryptozoology and many eyes.

Bigfoot footprints

A leather zombie hand (took her forever and broke her xacto)

And a many eyed monster that sadly  got amputated during shipping

Thanks for swapping with me gala_apples!

P.S. What kind of polymer clay did you use? This look and feels more  like plaster. Just wondering.

3  Re: Mini 13 Days of Halloween Rnd 8 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Glamis on: June 29, 2016 12:23:15 AM
I finally received and could open three days at once. Yeaj. Grin Cant really understand smeddleys swap anxiety  Huh She wrapped everything eco friendly in fabrics scraps, love it.

First there were some awesome extras:

zombie duckies! Their eyes crack me up  Cheesy

Some zombie bubbles (that I entertained the bus stop with and that made some bypassing hardcore looking truckers smile very big), supercool zombie stitch markers, and really pretty..eh..horrible "Refleshmints". The mints inside are tiny brains <3

And the (hopeyfully infamous by now) book of explaining for each day

Smeddley and I are making this a horror movie swap and every day is dedicated to one of our favorite movies

Day 1: Shining

Magnificent magnets with the carpet design, the creepy twins, the redrum door writing and the all work and no play makes jack a dull boy pages. Can you ever have too much magnets?

Day 2: 28 days later

A kreepy key chain. That is way too pretty to become scratched and dented on a keyring and screams to be a pendant. Plus it reminds me of the tunnel scene in the movie

Day 3: The silence of the lambs

a nifty movie poster necklace and a beautiful bracelet that has subtle references to the deaths head moth (the shades of brown, the skulls and the moth closure)

bracelet close up

Day 4: Zombieland

Snazzy zombie socks to keep my toes toasty during the zombie apocalypse. They even fit my chubby calves!

Day 5: Ringu (The ring original)

Can you spot it?

Its a dreadful Sadako doll. Smeddleys friend Cryssoleil painted the face and she made the shift dress. Thankfully there was no video to watch...

Day 6: What we do in the shadows

So today I was so clever to open day 9 instead of day 6  Undecided
Nevertheless, there was this viscous viago peg doll in his casket. The details are very delicate. As smeddley already said, if you havent seen this movie yet, you really should!

Day 7: Texas chainsaw massacre

Was this chunky terrifying texas chainsaw massacre magnet that is joining the shining magnets on my fridge

Day 8: Hellraiser

A blood-curling cenobite. I always wanted to make a pinhead pincushion but now I am glad I never did because my stitches would not have been half a neat as Smeddleys.

Days 9: Shaun of the dead

A spooky Shaun funko pop. He is so much more handsome than the real thing. Is it wrong to be attracted to a funko?

Day 10: Texas chainsaw massacre

A truculent tiny creepy crocheted chainsaw. Made with cotton yarn. Look at all the minuscule stitches. And the grey saw part is armed with wire to keep it in shape.

Day 11: Night of the living dead

My favortie movie. Yeah! A
"horrible" hoop with the iconic quote from the movie. The stitches are so perfect. Love it

Day 12: Evil dead

A nasty necronomicon needlebook. How cool is that?! Best needlebook ever

Last day (sniff  Cry): Return of the living dead

A gruesome needle goblet. Such a cool idea.

Thank you Smeddley for an awesome horror movie swap. I love every single item and you really should not be so insecure about your crafting skills.  Wink
And thanks to the moderator of course!

4  Re: Everyday is Halloween Gallery SO May 20th in The Swap Gallery by Glamis on: May 25, 2016 05:30:02 AM
I received my sweet package from alwaysinmyroom.

I was a bit confused because the box says "Happy anniversary"
Then I opened it and found out:

My wedding anniversary is on Halloween and since alwaysinmyroom always wanted to do a project like this we were a perfect match! Me an hubby love it!

I also received extras:

the fabric is supposed to glow in the dark...so far it doesnt- nevermind, I like the pattern. And the bowl was instantly nicked by the kitty to play with. Stupid thing loves wool.

Some more extras: dark chocolate (not a super fan but the peanut one is yummy) and a garland to craft with or just hang.. well see...

Thank you alwaysinmyroom for a wonderful package and a fun swap! (Sorry for the gloomy lighting in the pics, crappy weather here)

Here is my whole loot:

Day 1:
a superpretty pin cushion for my collection of DIY fancy pin cushions

the back is pretty too!

Day 2:
two skull blocks that are quite heavy. I thing they are intended to be decoration but I think they make handy fabrics weight too. Plus some skull charms and a nice little skull bracelet.

Day 3:

A beautiful charm bracelet. In one of my favorite color combinations! The beads are all so interesting.

Day 4:

A beautiful bunting. In one of my favorite color combinations again! Love the writing on it.

Day 5:

A rad bat scarf (I desperately needed but couldnt find a nice one), bat jewelry and a wooden bat badge

close up of the jewelry

Day 6:

2 beautiful pieces of artwork . Did you make/paint these artsycandice? And if, how are they made? They are somehow applied to wooden blocks.

Day 7:

A wonderful, spooky lantern. When you turn on the electric light inside it looks like the graveyard is burning. Even the picky SO liked it!

plus a nifty carved bat pendant. It looks like some kind of gemstone...

Day 8:

A lovely painted coffin/pincushion with an anatomical heart magnet inside. I cant tell if it is DIY  Huh

Day 9:

A great, wooden figurine. I think it is supposed to be a cat but it also looks kind of like a lemur

Day 10:

An awesome skull towel and three equally awesome small, spooky trays. Bat brains!

Day 11:

A painting with a quote from Army of darkness and an Ash shadow. I now want to watch it again!

Day 12:

A supercool Halloween mantle miniature scene. So much details!

A cheese platter in the right corner

A crafty scene it the attic. You cant see it very good but there is a tiny oldschool sewing machine in the back

A tiny sphere tree and poisonous beads

And this really cracks me up: there is a sceleton hand on the mantel, wearing a diamond ring...I am getting hitched this Halloween so this is perfect!

Day 13:

On the last day I received a posh dressed puppet. She is wearing a gown and a fancy sash and jewlery. I named her Cecil and she is going to live with my Lady Gaga and Poison Ivy poppets.

look at her awesome fringe hair

Thank you artsycandice for an awesome and fun swap and lots of pretty and spooky things. I admire your crafty talent and maybe we are able to swap again in the future. My SO just looked at all the presents I received and said: She made a bunch of cool stuff, didnt she? There's nothing else to be said....

I received a summery collage from crazyda79. And it perfectly suits the heat wave we are having in Germany (35C/95F). It is also backed with foam rubber so I can take it to the beach and it will float  Wink
Thanks crazyda79!

8  Re: Magic Yarn Ball Swap Round 17 Gallery (SO 2/23/2015) in The Swap Gallery by Glamis on: May 14, 2015 12:08:32 PM

I FINALLY received from Alexus 1325. Hope there is still someone on here to admire all the pretty things
Here is what was outside the MYB: pom pom makers (waaay better then the ones I uses before), stickers, the project: a shell stitched vest/cardi and beautiful teal colored wool blend yarn

close up of one of my favourite extras:

there was more: an awesome knitted pencil shaped pouch, Batman colored (yellow, blue) handspun(?) wool and 2 3D Batman journals

that was in the the ball: all kinds of different buttons, glas beads, a supercool knitted grenade shaped pouch and a tentacle pendant that was unfortunately broken and one piece is miraculously missing. In the upper right corner is the beautiful rainbow colored sock yarn everything was wrapped in

and a group shoot of all the wool I got

Thank you so much Alexus 1325, the package was well worth the wait. I love everything  and cant wait to start crocheting!

10  Re: 3D Bug Swap - Gallery in The Swap Gallery by Glamis on: January 06, 2015 01:43:23 PM
After 1 month, 3 weeks and 2 days my package from suereal FINALLY arrived. And it was so worth the wait (as I expected)  Cheesy

Without further ado and because I am so stoked:

A hand painted plate. That, according to the website on the sticker on the back, is a kit that you paint, send in and then the company that sell those fixes it. Best thing: It is dishwasher safe. How cool!

A potholder (?) and a set of coasters. All painstakingly quilted and neatly bound. I love how colorful they are.

I tried to snap a close up of the the quilting

And more awesomeness: It is reversible! It has skulls on the back!  Shocked

A purse (here is a text she enclosed)
Only recently discoverd, this relative of the Common House-Fly is the largest fly ever recorded in
modern history. So large, in fact that they are being used as handbags in some parts of the world.
They have relatively small eyes for their body mass, but the inner facial bone is quite strong and
works as an effective handle. The spectacular Golden Lips are strong enough to work as a quite
sturdy clasp. Once dried, the inner lining of the fly take on a silk-like texture and all signs of its
origin seemingly evaporates. There are two ways to wear the GLUHF. One is to wear it facial bone
up. There are two sturdy link bones (belived to once encase venom sacks) at the jaw point. Or, you
can hang it from jaw point to...um..a strong bone at the back end of the creature. This particular
   specimenhas a parasitic wasp attached."

Here is a close up of the parasitic wasp (that one really cracked me up) and the construction of the wings , that double as little pockets. It is wire somehow fused into some plastic stuff. How did you make that sureal?

And here is a picture of the "intestine" colored lining

I believe that is one of my favorite things ever received in a swap and I have been prancing around with it the whole day

I also got some cute "packing material" (temporary tattoos, dragonfly ribbon (that is washable so I assume I can put it on clothing) and a candy bar)

Thank you so very much suereal. I LOVE everything  Cheesy
