2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Disposable Camera Swap on: July 01, 2008 10:19:01 PM
I always had a slightly different spin with this swap - Everyone uses a disposable camera. You take the photos and then send your partner the camera - not developed.
I would love to take the camera to the store to get the photos developed and have no idea what i'd be getting.
I know it's pretty much the same - but this seems more exciting to me!

Yes I was actually really disappointed with the last "Disposable Camera Swap" since pretty much NO ONE used disposable cameras! I mean, isn't that the point? They cost very little and I think it is a lot more fun too. I honestly would not join again unless it was disposable camera REQUIRED (so maybe change the name to something else if no one is using disposable cameras!!!!)

The first disposable camera swap I was in, I did use a disposable camera.  Unfortuately, only about 9 pictures on the whole roll turned out, same with my partner that used a disposable camera.  They were blurry or just black.  Thats why the second time round I switched to digital.  Just remember as your taking the pictures that manual focus cameras and digital cameras spoil you!

That apron is great~ Thanks for everyone making this an awesome swap! We are officially done. Smiley

Ok, back on craftster.  I discovered after many trials, tears, and yards upon yards of fabric, I personally cannot sew an apron up to the standards I wanted to give since Therisa was flaked on.  SOOOOOOOOOO, the apron actually came from sassy aprons on etsy.  I still wanted her to get a handmade apron, but not the lopsided, hideous messes I came up with.  Just wanted to give credit where credit was due!

Damn, I would love to join, but actually lol mental health issues are keeping me from it.  Changes in meds have made me very flakey and it's probably going to be a few weeks before they find something that works for me.  Lost my good insurance so had to go on state insurance which doesn't cover my meds that were working perfectly for me  Angry  It's been a rough couple of weeks of not getting out of bed and not having a memory.
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Vintage Apron Swap? Embroidered aprons? on: June 12, 2008 09:44:50 PM
Omg, this swap is totally up my alley.  Although I just tried sewing an apron for another swap (that I embroidered btw), but my sewing machine and I and the apron just didn't get along.  I do have an HUGE collection of vintage aprons though.  Would it be acceptable (of course dependant on my partner) to use an apron from say the 50's?  I even have some that still have the tags on them  Grin

Ok, I have a little more time to type now.  I wanted to add what I knew about the drawings in my shop, it's a very sad story.  I got them from the artists aunt, along with a lot of his personal collection.  He was bipolar, OCD, and possibly schizophrenic.  He was found dead in his appartment by her a couple of weeks before.  The really sad part, he had been dead for 8 weeks before anyone even realized it.  It took that long for someone to notice he hadn't been around.  The woman I got everything from had to then go and clean out his house, where he (like myself as I am bipolar) had amassed just mounds of stuff, due to manic shopping sprees.  She finally got to the point she couldn't take having to sort thru everything, and just loaded it up and donated it to her church yard sale.

The prints are on what I think is water color paper, it has that type look and feel to it.

I love I'm not the only one that found love in the rpg world hehe

On a side note... I have a new addiction...  big lots of mystery comics off of eBay.  In one of my recent penny wins (of course $17.99 shipping though =\) of mystery lot of comics, I found...

Tank Girl The Odyssey #1, 2, 3!  Not to mention some Spawn, Spiderman, and others for the SO.

Huh  Ok, I went to add pictures and stuff to my shop, and for some reason, all my pictures I uploaded a few days ago are GONE.  I emailed some to myself, no links, no nothing, the pictures are just MIA???  Anyone else had this problem with photobucket?  I know I uploaded them, I added captions, etc, and now they are just GONE!

But, I've uploaded again and added to my shop.

To those talking about finding love in a fellow geek-  I found my hubby on the orginal Marvel comics message boards (we the role-players crashed the boards a few times before they finally never returned Cheesy)

Hehe, my bf and I met 5 years ago playing Final Fantasy XI, an online MMORPG.  He just moved in with me about a year ago.
