81  Simple John Deere and hearts bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by miserylovesme on: November 06, 2006 04:59:22 PM
The patches are felt and stitched on with little x's (like cross stitching). My mom said it was ugly.  Angry

Is it ugly?? *sniffle*

82  Liar, Liar!! (syringe, comedy&tragedy masks, and <3) in Stenciling: Completed Projects by miserylovesme on: November 06, 2006 04:43:09 PM
I'm like a big TBS fan, and I love their song "Liar (It takes one to know one)", so I made this shirt.

The lyrics on the shirt are: I'm an addict for dramatics, I confuse the two for love.

I dunno if you can tell but there is an uber cute heart dripping out of the syringe. I'm going to stencil "liar liar" on one of the sleeves but I haven't gotten around to it just yet. The lettering was hard. Cool trick I figured out: buy alphabet stickers, and use like the background part (you know, that is also sticky?) instead of peeling the stickers off. I mean, you can use those for something else Smiley but the background makes an easy, cheap stencil. I would have died Xactoing all of those out.

Cute, no?

83  Chinese Wisdom + Bottle caps + Resin! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by miserylovesme on: July 04, 2006 03:14:23 PM
So, it was all going rather sweetly when suddenly it wasn't. It's not what I wanted, so I'm taking it apart, but...looky looky anyway.

The rose one, in the top middle? It says "bitterest". The booklet I got the stuff out of had a weird font. The s's look like t's.

Prettiful or no?

84  Wood biscuits but no MSG! :D in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by miserylovesme on: May 27, 2006 08:06:44 PM
You can get a 5 pack of these round, wood biscuit thingies at Hobby Lobby for like 0.99. They have squares and hearts and stars and... bonnets?  Grin I just turned to the menu section in the phonebook and voila. It's kind of tacky, but I like it. Phonebook pages are really thin, but if you don't use super watery glue, you shouldn't be able to see through to whatever menu/ads are on the other side. Unless you want to. I guess. Oh, and you should probably seal it. I haven't, yet.

Sorry the picture is gigantic! I'ts not much bigger than a quarter.

85  More scrabble tiles! Chinese takeout menu. in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by miserylovesme on: May 27, 2006 06:38:06 PM
Boredom and eating out.

I would so love to have a bracelet made out of these. Do you think I could find a drill bit small enough to drill a hole all the way through, from side to side, without cracking the pieces? Or if not, is there any jewelry finding that I'm unaware of that could be glued to the back, with an opening on each side, to string cording through or something?

Help me! Oh, and like them.

86  Flowery scrabble tiles! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by miserylovesme on: May 27, 2006 12:40:46 AM
Yay for finally getting rid of some of these game pieces I've been saving for so long!

I'm planning on making a necklace out of these, like a drop necklace?

Ignore my painting toothpicks.  Tongue And yes, I smudged the second one. Shoulda painted the sides first. I got some paint on my finger and touched the top. Sad

And a close up of the first one, which is also my favorite:

I'm going to cover them with clear nail polish or something to make them shiny. But I'm liking them so far. I wanted them to look kinda old.

Watcha think?

87  Mmm, Sushi necklace... cherry blossoms in progress in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by miserylovesme on: May 25, 2006 04:57:35 PM
So, I bought these football shaped wooden thingies at Hobby Lobby and painted them up real nice with nail polish.

The red characters at the top of the sushi one? I made them up. I think if anyone asks, I'll say something random. I made that one into a necklace:

Yes, my collar bone is sunburned. No, it doesn't hurt. Thanks for the concern. Tongue That's what happens when my mom drags me out in the garden.

It's my new favorite necklace, I think. What should I do with the cherry blossom one? And oh. Think anyone might be silly enough to purchase one at the upcoming craft fair in my city? It only cost me like $1 to make, but painting with toothpicks is painfully slow.

Sorry for bad pictures! I should let someone else do that.

COMMENT! Please, I said.

88  Oriental scrabble tiles in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by miserylovesme on: May 24, 2006 12:52:24 PM
So I ripped off the idea from this post: https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=93589.0

Hers are much better, but, I gave it a try. I don't have any dominos, but I do have a huge stash of scrabble tiles. I got out some of the blank ones and went to work. I am not lucky enough to have a brother with awesomely tiny model brushes, so I used toothpicks. Oh, and nail polish.

The symbol on the fan was supposed to be "misery", but it was two characters and complicated. So I made it up, mostly. And the Lotus flower should say "love", but also too complicated. Left some of the thingies off. I just need to make one for "me", and I'll have my "misery loves me" charms to make a cool bracelet, I'm thinking. I might string them individually and wear three bracelets.

Oh. I covered them with clear nail polish, so they were really shiny and hard to take pictures of. It's going to take them 30 years to dry enough so I can wear them, methinks.

Sweet or no? Also... what could I make the third one of? Keeping the oriental theme.

89  Skull and flowers, My Little Anarchy Pony. in Stenciling: Completed Projects by miserylovesme on: May 22, 2006 12:03:19 PM
Hi. First post. I recently got really into the whole stenciling with freezer paper thing. I've been looking for cheap t-shirts at garage sales to punk up. So much fun, yeah?

These are two of my favorites so far:

You can't really tell, but that vest is faux suede and so very rad. Cute brass buttons, too. The skull and flowers are brown, with a bit of bronze shimmer. I applied the paint sparingly in some areas to make it look worn. Looks totally vintage, to me. I made the stencil myself. Woohoo. Next,

I <3 my little ponies. I found the pony image online, and then just freehanded the anarchy symbol and cut it out. I haven't seen one like it, but I don't pretend to be brilliant. Surely it has been done. I just didn't want the cutesy flowers on its butt.

Comments and criticisms welcome! Hit me.
