1  Crush Dance in Valentine's Day by kimmi on: March 15, 2009 04:11:46 PM
I go to a university that has one of the largest Greek systems in the country.  With that said, sorority life takes up most of my time with philanthropies, volunteering, and oh of course- SOCIAL events.  Smiley

Every February we have what's called "Crush Dance" it's our semi formal...and each year we go from fraternity to fraternity to serenade the boys and give them a "crush favor" to ask them to our dance.  Normally girls do beer mugs filled with candy, but I wanted to decorate a bucket and fill it with candy and a beer bong lol

Here was mine:

he's in the Kappa Sigma fraternity, and his favorite color is orange

it says "it isn't love, it isn't lust...it's just a little Theta crush! KAO Crush Dance, Love Kimmi

and here's the final product:

there's a beer bong that says "lets get drunk, let's get plastered" and an orange shot glass that i wrote on that says "Drink up! Black Out!"  (i know i know...but hey it's a frat boy that i took lol) don't worry, these little favors weren't used before or during the dance  Wink
what do you think?  my date liked them I hope you do too!

2  shrinky dink- cartel 'the minstrel's prayer' necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by kimmi on: June 01, 2006 07:01:31 PM
My friend just had an operation, so i'm visiting her tomorrow and i'm bringing along a huge card, along with this.  Her favorite song is Cartel's 'The Minstrel's Prayer'...and a part of the song goes Shelter me oh genius words
Just give me strength Just to pen these things And give me peace to well her wings And oh carry on all your minstrels of the world We will catch our ladies ear We will win for us the girl

so i thought it would be cool of me to incorporate that into a necklace, and this is what i came up with:

...get it? they're angel wings with a heart!

the heart and wings are two seperate pieces i glued together w/ tacky glue and i  smeared a bunch of sharpies together to get the color affect and prevented the scratching/deconstruction of the color by sealing it with clear nailpolish.
