Yuck, this weather!!

I'm assuming the Arts Expo isn't going on today, with the chilly rain? I hope things look better tomorrow!

23  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Lady Gnome of the Apple Blossoms (image heavy) on: July 10, 2006 09:33:19 PM
I am so excited! I made this little needle felted gnome tonight while watching a movie. She's so sweet with her apple blossom pink dress, green gnome hat, and juicy apple. She's all wool - I used natural roving for her base and added dyed wool on top. I love her (and my daughter does, too)!  Grin This was my first attempt at a 3 dimensional figure.

I'm going to go back and tuck in all the little whispies - they aren't too noticable in person, but annoying in photos.

So, what do you think?

Yes! I'm the right Tara. I DO remember you, but you're right - I don't think we ever talked to each other. Your dad was a teacher, right? I think I had him in class.  Smiley

It was awful! I there are still a few tiny little pieces of pink foam infesting my poor abused bag.

Thanks for the tips, GraceO! I'm new to the board and just catching up on previous feltalongs (just felted some soap today  Grin ).

teamwang - I was needle felting a bag - the wool was really fine and wasn't felting well, so I dug in pretty deep and rough. I peeled the bag off the foam last night and enormous chunks of foam came off with it, mostly on the sides.  Undecided

Hi! That's so weird. I'm not sure who you are, since I don't know your last name, but I'm going to dig out my yearbook soon (we just moved and I think they're still packed away in a box somewhere) and I'll figure it out. Smiley

You do have me intrigued about the crap that happened at the end of high school, though. I was always so oblivious, I have no idea.

I just completely destroyed my beautiful pink 10x15x1.5 block of foam that cost me $10 (!!!). I swore I had some around the house, but I can't find it. So where can I buy some cheap (yet nice) foam? I know I can order it online, but I'd like to pick some up in a store tomorrow. I'm impatient.  Grin

Heatherfeather - here is the site I used:  http://www.sadako.com/fold/folding.html

I found it very clear and easy to understand. (I can be a little sloooowww sometimes. hahaha.)

What a great idea - the white cranes at a wedding! I wish I had thought of that 4 years ago.  Wink

Mimi055 - that shelf is a life saver! I love it.
