1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / A Dress Made Out of Paper? on: February 04, 2009 04:45:06 AM
I am an avid scrapbooker and REALLY am obsessed with making a dress out of paper for a very special party i was invited to in April.
I've searched all over the boards and can't find any instructions or project examples.

I've never actually made clothing before and plan on using duct tape for most of it (no sewing), but i was hoping you crafty gals could direct me towards any particular websites or threads here that could help?

I already saw the "making of the personalized dress form out of packaging tape" which I will do, but from there i do not know where to go.

4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Re: I Need help with shrinky dinks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Please?) on: February 05, 2007 07:47:44 AM
with the inkjet 'dinks, you have to lighten the color  by 50% before you print it.

rebumping a year old thread, but this is the question is was searching for.
assuming you're using photoshop:
when you lighten the image 50% what tool are you using?
changing the opacity on the layer?
adjusting the light/contrast on the image menu?
adjusting the saturation values on the hue/saturation on the image menu?

thanks for the help!
these were expensive and i don't want to waste too many playing around.

7  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Charity Cards Project on: January 12, 2007 11:13:29 AM
longtime lurker, first time poster Smiley
i've gotten alot of inspiration from here so thanks in advance!

Anyways, this may belong in a different part of the forum, but i just started making cards and to help me develop my skills i've volunteered to make them for a charity i am very active with, www.africanwellfund.org.
Here is the banner i've made, and 1 of the cards up close.
After making 15, I've developed a template for the 3 pictures.

My question to you all is what you think a fair price would be? I'm not looking to make a profit - I'm just asking for $1 per card for supplies, the rest will be donated to the charity.
I was thinking of selling them individually and the set of 3.

Thanks for looking, and thanks for your input!
