1  Re: Craft My Wists-Summer 2008 Swap in The Swap Gallery by tricia on: August 13, 2008 05:22:41 PM
I got my package from igobylorib and everything is so awesome. She was a great partner and put up with a lot of slow communication from me after my mom had surgery in June and I found my free time disappear. Thank you so much for everything, now onto the pictures.

Here is the great Turtle apron she made for me.

I love those great pockets!

Here are my other handcrafted goodies.

There is a pin cushion, some turtle magnets and buttons, notecards, a frame and a compact mirror.

Here is a close up of the magnets

She also sent me a bunch of store bough goodies.

Necklace and ring, socks, belt, buttons, plushie, and paperclips.

I love my package, thank you igobylorib.

4  2 Cute New Skirts! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by tricia on: August 21, 2007 03:21:04 PM
Here are 2 new skirts I made using the outline for an A-Line Skirt with an elastic waistband in Sew What, Skirts!.

This one is made with a cotton/linen blend I found with that beautiful embroidery already done on it. Excuse the socks and wrinkles, I had worn it all day when this picture was taken. Smiley

Here is the second skirt made in a cute cotton print.

Close-up of the fabric.

5  Re: Hogwarts Favorite House Swap Round 2 in The Swap Gallery by tricia on: June 01, 2007 02:31:07 PM
Wow, I got my package today! Everything in it is absolutely awesome. I had the wonderful LordVoldy aka Sarah as my partner.

First here is the beautiful card I got!

And a post card from the Dominican Republic where she is from, isn't it beautiful?

She even decorated the back

I got these really cool wrist warmers! They fit perfectly.

Here is my house mascot! I am thinking of naming him Godric, Oh, and his cute scarf can be taken off when he gets too hot.

This Gryffindor belt is too neat! It demands to be worn at all times!

And the buckle! Sorry about the glare, this is the best shot I could get.

Now, I think these are crocheted but the gauge is so tiny I can't be sure. However they were made they are super awesome and I am very impressed!

And here are my favorite characters, Neville and Ron! Plus a cool Weasley is my King Keychain that is already on my key ring.

The bottom of my box was filled with all of those awesome red and gold stars, a Gryff flag for my mini Ron and Neville to use at quidditch games and Trevor!

And this is so great, a crochet bag with the Gryffindor Crest on it!

Plus, it is fully lined!

Everything I got is fantastic, and I am amazed at how many different crafts Sarah is great at. I can't even imagine how those stars and Trevor were made and I am super jealous of her crochet skills.

Thank you so much Sarah, this was such a fun swap! And thanks to the organizers too!

6  Simple A-Line Skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by tricia on: May 07, 2007 01:26:12 PM
I made this skirt using the directions for a simple A-Line skirt with an elastic waist band in Sew What! Skirts http://www.amazon.com/Sew-What-Skirts-Fabulous-Fabrics/dp/1580176259/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1/102-5444230-0557749?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1178569304&sr=8-1

I am not entirely happy with the hem, I messed it up a bit, but besides that I am really happy with the skirt. I love the fabric, it is the perfect light cotton for a summer skirt.

7  A bunch of FOs including my first sweater! in Knitting: Completed Projects by tricia on: April 24, 2007 07:41:46 PM
I have saved up a few old knitting projects to post.

Here is a cute pair of cotton socks I gave to my sister as a gift.

These are two hats I made from Patons SWS. I love how soft and warm this yarn is. It can be a pain to work with sometimes but it is beautiful.

This is a very simple drop stitch scarf I made for a friend in California.

These are two hats I made for my cousin's baby. The first one is Lion Brand Wool Ease with Caron Simply Soft for the i-cord. The second is cotton.

This is the first sweater I made. I was going to give it to my niece, but it turned out a little small, so I am waiting for someone else to grow into it.

Thanks for looking and any comments on how I can improve!

8  Tiered Peasant Skirt - Edited with new pictures! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by tricia on: April 24, 2007 03:56:40 PM
I made this super easy tiered skirt, and I really love it. I made it over the course of two nights while watching T.V. It isn't quite done, I am waiting for someone to help me pin up the hem, but I really wanted to share some pictures.

This picture shows off the shape more. I used a black knit fabric for the top so the the waistband is really stretchy and you can just slip the skirt on. Then I added three tiers of the cotton fabric.

I love the way it came out, though my mom said the waistband makes it look like a maternity skirt. I don't mind, no one sees that part and it is comfy!

And here it is on me. I am so happy with it, and I finished it just in time for all this great weather.

ETA: Here are two new pictures showing a closeup of the fabric. This is some stuff that I got at Jo-Anne's on clearance about a year ago and it sat in my stash for a while. I really like it a lot, and I think it makes the skirt.

9  HP House scarves and hats in Knitting: Completed Projects by tricia on: April 23, 2007 11:02:55 PM
Here are some older projects I never got a chance to post.

This is my POA style Gryffindor hat and scarf set.

I made it out of Knit Picks Wool of the Andes. The scarf is knit in the round and is super warm.

This is another POA style set, in the movie Ravenclaw colors for my sister.

This was made with Caron Simply soft, and the scarf is just garter stitch.

Lastly a Slytherin hat for my other sister.

I used Red Heart for the green and left over simply soft for the stripes. My sister also had a Hufflepuff scarf that was a gift from a friend, and it makes me laugh when she wears the two together.

I also I have a Slytherin scarf and a pair of wrist warmers I made for my brother, but I gifted them before I got any pictures, hopefully I can get some soon.

10  First post, a wrap around skirt. in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by tricia on: March 28, 2007 11:27:46 AM
Here is my first finished sewing project that fits! It is just a basic wrap around skirt, so if it didn't fit I would feel pretty silly.

I've been lurking for a while and admiring everyone's awesome stuff so it's nice to post my own FO.
