I want to make little snoods from fabric for when I don't feel like doing my hair. I want it to be like this-

But without the cord tie, and shorter. Any ideas?

I think it would be awesome to get some tire tracks- maybe not all the way across but dude, that would be pretty cool.

I'm sorry if that's insensitive or rude, I didn't mean it that way at all. But I would totally get tire tracks if I got run over.

Hi, I'm gwen, I'm a newbie, and I'm joining this thing. Here are mine- (I have a newborn so it's gonna be a lot of recon on old now-too-small clothes. Also, I'm gonna set ridiculously long deadlines because I don't get a lot of time to myself.)

1. finish my too-small-dickies pants-to-skirt project by 5/26/06 (this is almost done... I'm pre-sewing the seams by hand [basting?] before I attempt to machine sew it.)

2. make either a dress or a top out of a giant grey Army shirt I have 6/2/06

3.  do something with my too-small dickies dress. 6/9/06

other stuff-
carrying case for boyfriend's tattoo machines (8/06)
reconbutton up shirt into tube top (8/06)
make more purses from the million purse patterns i have (8/06)
make halloween costumes for me, my boyfriend, and my baby (10/31/06)

haha, I haven't done any of that stuff. I'm changing my priorities now. My machine is down so I can't do much sewing, so all that stuff is postponed 'til I fix it/get a new one. Here's a new list:

1. Hand sew a beanbag pillow to support the baby during "tummy time." (Inspiration- this $20 thingy @ target- http://www.target.com/gp/detail.html/sr=1-4/qid=1151995033/ref=sr_1_4/601-6771633-1959308?%5Fencoding=UTF8&asin=B00006ZCCE)

2. Hit the Hancock Fabrics semi-annual sale tomorrow and buy a load of 99 cent Simplicity patterns, and maybe some other goodies.

3. Buy an umbrella stroller and make it look like either a rat rod, monster or robot.

In the meantime, I actually finished one thing- the purse for my friend Jenn.
this one's at a wierd angle- the bottom is squared like a jordy.

What arm do you mean? Can you show it to me, please?

I just found this, maybe it will help.

I decided to embroider a western shirt for my boyfriend's father's day gift. I've never really tried it before but it seems easy enough. I tested out my "skills" on a spare piece of fabric first and it turned out pretty decent.

I know this isn't "crafty" but there *is* a beauty section on here... I have never been able to learn to curl my hair, but I want to learn how to do my hair like this:

(Vickie from "Raging Bull")
It seems pretty easy once I get the curly part down.

It's not especially great, but I learned a lot on it, and I think I'll do better next time.

9  Zebra purse- first project post! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by gwenluvy on: June 11, 2006 05:17:55 AM
I went to Wal Mart a week or so ago and went through the remnants pile, and this zebra print and bright pink tulle were just begging to become a purse. The zebra was 88 cents and the tulle was $1.77 and I have loads left of each. I think I may try this one again because I think I finally figured out how to make it more easily. This was the first time I've tried a triangular sided purse, and I didn't have a pattern so I kinda winged it. I had so much trouble getting it to work, and in the end it was so annoyingly simple. Well, here it is- my Zebra purse, with pink tulle and zebra striped ribbon handles.

Sorry for the crappy pic quality, I only have a really old webcam. You can see that I have no idea what I'm doing with the tulle, since it's all puffy on one end and not so much on the other. That stuff is a pain, I had no idea.

here is the side

Hope you like it.
