1  glass jars with a new life in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by nuri on: February 14, 2010 04:20:04 PM
My husband and I have had way too many days off of school because of all the snow here in the mountains. We found this awesome tea in bulk at the local eastern market. So, we decided to make these glass jars full of loose tea for his mom's birthday. I got the idea from here http://www.designspongeonline.com/2009/07/guest-blog-diy-project-paper-scrap-projects.html. We decided to add labels and beads for decoration.   Smiley

Tell me what you think! Smiley

It is Arabic tea, so we decided to copy the name in Arabic.

The red one is my favorite!
I really enjoy recycling and reusing things. It is so exciting to find a use for something old. I am going to start keeping glass jars until I don't have room for them! There are so many possibilities, including this and then you could use etching cream....

I would love to hear your thoughts! Smiley

2  mosaic coffee table in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by nuri on: August 24, 2006 04:45:16 PM
My husband and I have been wanting to do something with this old coffee table for a couple of years now and I finally found the time to do it!
Here is what it looked like before:
one coat of paint:

After nailing a few loose parts together, I painted another coat of paint. Then I put a piece of hardy backer to fill in the gap in the center of the table and create an even surface to work on.

Then I arranged the pieces of stained glass on the table, glued them down and then added grout.... and...... TADA! a new colorful table!!

I need to add something to it to seal it..like a glaze of some kind... does anyone have any recommendations?

any other thoughts or comments would be cool too!  :)thanks!

- also I want to give credit to PinkyK and her mom for posting this BEAUTIFUL mosaic table https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=74990.0
I knew I wanted to put a mosaic on this table but after seeing the stained glass mosaic...I decided stained glass was the way to go! Thank you!

3  different shades and sizes- bead necklaces in Beads: Completed Projects by nuri on: July 16, 2006 09:05:06 AM
This is my first real post on craftster (yesterday I made a few comments here and there)....and I want to thank you all for all your craftiness and wondeful ideas!!

I love making things and recently I have been into making bead necklaces. This first necklace is one I made to go with most of my outfits because I tend to wear a lot of solid colored t-shirts, paints, skirts, etc... all together.. so its nice to have a necklace that brings all my colors together Wink

This blue one is a gift for my sister-in-law....what do you all think? It's 34" long.

all feedback is welcome!!!
