2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Help making a button fly. on: June 15, 2006 06:06:00 AM
well i guess all you would have to do it cut out the zipper, maybe just cut out the metal part and sew ribbon on top of where it was so it doesn't look all frayed or anything.  then sew on some buttons where you want them in the fly.  mark where they go on the top part of the fly, and then sew and cut some button holes!  maybe try doing some button holes on a scrap piece of fabic if you don't know how to make them, they're a little bit tricky.  (i'm talking about with a sewing machine, i'm gonna go ahead and think you have one Smiley) so yeah.  pretty simple!  i don't know what these shorts look like but i always like shape and fun buttons.

i love grafite, it takes a while sometimes but not for me.  i love drawing people, it the only thing i'm really really good at drawing.  these are from pictures.  i like drawing that way better because you can stare at the picture and relaly see the details rather than a live model.  i'm 21 and i've been drawing for about four years.  since i was a senior in high school, i'm a junior in college now.  i was going to school for art but it wasn't fun after i had to keep doing things for the teacher and not have it be the way i liked it.  lost any joy of doing it. so i switched majors.

ooh i love these, i'm going to thank you for this idea.  i just made a pair of my own in blue green and yellow wrappers. i think the first ones always come out better than the second.  yours looks smooth, and  mine kind of are bumpy a little.  the wrappers didn't stay down perfectly. i'm telling everyone they were yourawesome idea though.  thanks!!!
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: the cutest dress.. for now :-D on: May 12, 2006 02:54:23 AM
i did view D.  it wasn't too hard really.  i don't know all the terms they were useing like basteing or whatever, but i called up my mom and asked.  the only part i really had trouble with was the darts in the top cuz i didn't know if i had to cut those out and sew them or just pull the fabric and sew them.. it was nice because it was just 6 pieces that i sewed together.  have fun with this dress and make it!! it's really comfy!  just make you size and take it in.  that's the only part i had to fix, the top was really wide for me.
