1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Childhood Book swap? on: August 10, 2006 11:05:10 PM
Remember the book you used to love to read when you were younger like over...and over...and over again??? Yeah and like how you grew out of it (well for an exceptional few) but want to reconnect with your inner child?  I sounded really spiritual there.  Lol.

Yeah well my favorite book was the catepillar one where you stick your finger through the holes and sometimes you just can't get your finger out! Yeah good times... I still remember what its about after all these year (10 years to be percise).

Well the basic idea of the swap is to show your partner what you grew up to, have them read it, make something from it!

I love the idea but i never organized a swap before and i am currently doing two right now.  Maybe in september? and maybe some one would like to  organize or tell me how to organize!

Well feedback would be nice!

2  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / A bobbin issue on: June 17, 2006 11:12:10 AM
Okay... something is wrong with my bobbin...   You know how your needle is suppose to catch the bobbin thread???  Well mine does but the needle thread wraps itself around the whole bobbin!  what's up with that?Huh I WANT TO SEW!!!  I have tried looking at my manual but i didn't have any luck...
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / MY vintage sewing machine problems on: May 27, 2006 05:49:45 PM

Here's the deal...

I have a very OLD sewing machine.  A Singer.  I don't know how old it is but it used to be my stepgrandmother's.  I'm having some trouble.  I thought about getting another one but i see people are recommending to buy older versions instead of the new. Plus, i don't feel like paying alot for one when i have a working one at home.

I don't know what's wrong with it. It worked before, but after the thread in the bobbin ran out, i started to run into some problems.  Putting the bobbin in, is a pain, i don't know how to work the tension (or what the tension is)...  What are these numbers and symbols on the knobs?

(Please don't tell me to go look in my manual....  I kinda lost it... but isn't all sweing machines the same?? Before facing any problems, it worked and i din't need a manual to figure it out.)

I took a sewing class in 7th grade and  i really want to sew!  Please...  I just need some help.  I would go to ther sites and research my problems but i just don't understand!   Please explain it to me like i'm in the second grade.  Nice and slow.  Spaced and BIG letters.
