2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / bella's mittens on: December 21, 2008 09:22:50 AM
Pattern: <a href="http://homepage.mac.com/subliminalrabbit/bellasmittens_pattern.pdf">Bella's mittens</a> (PDF)
Yarn: Patons Shetland Chunky Tweeds
Needles: Size 8 dpn's

I love these mitts! The pattern is easy to follow and they knit up quick because of the chunky yarn. So warm and comfy, perfect for cold winter days!

Thanks for looking Smiley

Wow, thanks guys!

oh wow this is absolutely gorgeous Smiley

looks like it prolly knit up pretty quick too!

aaahhh yay for instant knitting gratification  Wink Wink Grin Grin haha

is there a place i could buy this pattern or anything? it's so lovely Smiley

Yes, it was very fast to knit. It would have been a lot faster though if there wasn't errors in the pattern.

You can find this pattern in Twinkles Big City Knits which you can find online or at your local book store.

Thanks everybody!
I absolutely LOVE this. I spent a few months on a cabled scarf, and found out I LOVE CABLES! What a great tunic-thingy. What size needles and weight of yarn did you use?
I used just over 3 skeins of Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick with size 17 & 19 US circular needles.

At last it's finished!

This is the long version of the evening shell, which is suppose to be a dress, but fits more like a tunic. The pattern is messed up, the cable pattern is written for flat knitting instead of circular. So you'll have to be creative. You can find errata on my raverly http://www.ravelry.com/projects/postscriptlove/evening-shell
or my flickr http://flickr.com/photos/[email protected]/2629694544/

Thanks for looking!

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Bulky Blue Cabled Sweater on: March 21, 2008 06:10:09 PM
I have to agree with everyone else that yours is one beautiful sweater.  Did you cast on with fewer stitches than the pattern called for to make the neckline narrower.  I plan on making one, but some other knitters on Ravelry indicated that they had trouble with the sweater slipping down over their shoulders.
Thank you for the compliment! As for your question, I didn't modify the number of stitches cast on, I used the size small directions, possibly this is why it fits so well.

Thank you everyone!
Wow, that is gorgeous.  And it only took you a week?  I haven't attempted any cables yet, but now I'm itching to try some!  Thanks for the inspiration!
About a week, give or take a few days.

Here it is... fresh off the needles!

Pattern: Bulky Cabled Sweater from glampyreknits.com
Yarn: Lady Fair Klondike Chunky by Eaton (vintage yarn)
Needles: Size 11 & 10.5 US circulars

This is the Bulky Cabled Sweater from Glampyre Knits, it took me about a week of knitting, less if I werent doing other things. I love the gratification when knitting with chunky yarns, almost like an instant FO! I completely recommend this pattern, its easy enough to follow, basic cables make this top down raglan more interesting! I did have to extend the length of the body and sleeves because my gauge was off, also because of the length of the body I had to make more button holes.

Thanks for looking!
