41  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Trying to find a dress pattern... on: September 08, 2006 09:11:09 PM
I bought this really excellent rayon/cotton striped fabric that felt so soft and so nice, but now I don't know what to make out of it. I was thinking I could make a dress, but I'm not sure if T-shirty fabric would be good for a dress, and I can't find any patterns that look like they can be made out of it. Can anyone help me?
42  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / Help me craft while abroad! on: July 09, 2006 07:19:21 PM
I'm leaving for London in about a week and I'm also going to be in Edinburgh, and I'm looking for some shopping recommendations. So does anyone know of any fabric, yarn and/or bead shops?
43  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / My mini-cards! on: June 14, 2006 03:18:30 PM
I've been making mini-cards; card paper is so expensive, so I decided to just cut them in half to double my supply. Here are two that I haven't given away yet.

I couldn't draw if my life depended on it, so I just used Paint on my computer for this one.

On the this one, I found the pictures on the internet. I cut and pasted the teeth onto the taco picture.

44  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / My first post-op project: Mr. Burns on: June 14, 2006 03:04:24 PM
I got surgery last week, which means I have some time to sit down and just craft! So I started with a Mr. Burns embroidery.

And here's a blurry close-up (sorry about my terrible photography skills)

45  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / How to make buttons with fabric? on: June 12, 2006 09:43:25 PM
I was wondering if anyone knows how-or has another resource that would help me make fabric buttons. And I'm talking buttons you would put on a sweater or something, not pin-backs. Do I have to buy something to put it together? All I've found online are instructions for "rosette" buttons you make with fabric, but I was hoping to keep the fabric flat. Thanks a lot!
46  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Introducing Lewis Diablo on: May 18, 2006 11:06:32 PM
This is my first post on Craftster, so I thought I would start by posting my Lewis pillow...

I was inspired by the film short "Not Without My Handbag" which is on the movie Creature Comforts. All of you should add it to your Netflix, it's a cute film. He was a really quick project, made out of felt squares and embroidery for the details.

Why is he named Lewis? you ask. Well, if any of you have seen the movie Angel Heart, you will know. Thanks for looking.
