1  Re: Geek Chic gallery in The Swap Gallery by j_tennis on: July 04, 2009 09:22:00 PM
alright so here is my amazing package from Monty:

one of my favorite animals is the jelly and so I got a beautiful jelly crocheted handbag. I just love all the colors!

I also have this strange fascination with algae so I got an algae-looking headband (yay headbands! theyre my favorite)

One of my biology lab partners and I randomly came across the word nictitating membrane in a study guide one day and decided that would be our "plan b" answer to any question... i dunno how it would really work but I did get a really cool magnet to put on my dorm's fridge Cheesy

Finally... I got a magnetic periodic table! It even has some made up elements that I could use if i wanted to make words out of them. I think one of my favorites is the element "YES" which stands for positivium lol its so cute

totally geek chic and I love it! thanks again Monty!

3  A bag dedicated to my friends in CHALLENGE 20 ENTRIES by j_tennis on: August 01, 2007 01:18:10 PM
When I heard about what has been happening to fish around the world I knew I had to do this challenge. I'm an intern at a local aquarium and I have grown so attached to all of the animals. This challenge is the perfect way to send the message that we need to help our environments. Anyways, this is what I made...

I made the bag out of my leftover tote material and kinda went crazy with decoration. The slogan is "Bag plastic, cloth will save lives"

Iron- on pictures of some of my favorite animals and , of course, a heart to show my love.  Grin

... some pictures of embroidered fish on the sides...

I always thoughtwondered why people like to colect bugs and butterflies, maybe because they think their pretty. Well I like fairies and thought it would be a good idea to start collecting. The final result was to make a fairy trapped in a case out of scupley polymer clay. Her body is 1 1/2" by 1" and the depth of the case is about an inch as well.  Grin
