Moral of the story: Naysayers miss out on a lovely clock! I love the work you did - did you have the paper in mind first or did you go based on the clock shape entirely? (I guess I mean: which came first, the paper or the object?) Because it looks wonderfully unified.
anyhoo, great job!

Russian names would be cool, but he strikes me as a bird who started life with a chip on his shoulder - maybe a name like Algernon or Percival or Lawrence could have been the reason? All it takes to set him off is someone snorting or smirking when his name is mentioned and then BAM!

That or Chuck.

"Nobody gets me - I'm the wind, baby!"

Gotta love all things Servo - lovely craftsmanship. The hands/arms are a brilliant solution.

Is it too early to request a second round for this swap? I don't want to participate til I've seen the film and things are a bit too nuts round here for me to get involved right now.
*dreamy sigh*...button keys....

Awesome idea! I've been wanting to make something like this for a while, but the knitted/crocheted ones never struck me as quite right for the job somehow. Fleece, though - I know that stuff lives to attract dust!
Thanks for the post!

Question: When you say a Coraline box, do you mean the overall case or the button box?
Good golly I want to see this movie - I've been tracking its progress since 2007!

edit: for those seeking inspiration, author Neil Gaiman lists some of the concept artists' websites here: http://journal.neilgaiman.com/

Oh, count me in! This is one of my favorite books. I'm on the waiting list at the library for The Graveyard Book as well (yay for Newbery!).
Haven't seen the film, but I've visited the website a bunch - haven't seen the sweater pattern anywhere though.
There's a lot of fun stuff at Neil Gaiman's website as well: http://www.neilgaiman.com/

edit: I'll have to try this!
(why sentences are getting harder for me to form, I'll never know...)
9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: blue necklace, green bracelet, & gray necklace (lots of pics) on: January 28, 2009 06:06:35 PM
Thanks for looking for it...knowing that it's tatting (or tatting-esque?) is good for future brainstorming. Beautiful work either way!

Stylish solution to annoying problem of mail sorting! I love it. Thank you for the information, I look forward to a tutorial. I'm glad of the substitution information (I thought Timtex had been discontinued or something; not sure if it has or not, but good to have backup either way).
Thanks again!
