Wink Awesome, how would you like to do the swap?  Since so many of the books are in Japanese, ha, it's kinda hard to list them, perhaps scanned pics of covers?
65  ASIA / Japan / JAPANESE RAGDOLL AND MINI FELT DOLL MAKING on: May 04, 2006 12:23:11 PM
Okay, I'm just learning about this site I've joined.  Well I responded to NikoChan's mail and found out I can post a new topic.  I live in Hawaii and enjoying making Ragdolls and mini felt dolls from books like Ondori and Country Dolls (Gakken Interior Mook).  I just recently called our local Japanese book store to find out that Country Dolls is no longer in print.  Sad  However, I am looking for new Japanese Doll making books as well as possibly starting a pattern swap with this group.  The sites I've looked online are either in Japanese (which sadly being half Japanese, I am unable to read), or are sooooo expensive that it's ridiculous to try and even buy them online.

I will be looking at my local store, Hokubundo sometime this month.  They are in town and I live on the other side of the island....call me lazy  Roll Eyes  but, I would be more than happy to swap and share, and would appreciate any help or suggestions anyone may have.

Aloha from Hawaii - Is there anyone out there in this group that has sewn by hand or sewing machine; ragdolls and felt dolls from doll books from Japan?  Example books: Ondori, Gakken Mook, etc?   I have of this type of doll crafting books and wondering if anyone out there would be interested in pattern swaps.  Am interested in the Japanese books especially their mini felt dolls.  Would like to share patterns.

Oh Gosh I'm so glad I found this section.  I have collected over the years many Ondori Felt Crafting books and love making those little felt dolls.  I am also looking for new books and you all are right THEY ARE VERY EXPENSIVE and hard to find since many of the sites that you would look for these book are all in Japanese.  I can't read it, but when making rag dolls and such, I can definitely put together the patterns with the pictures, how to's, etc.  Just an FYI if you find a Japanese book store, the price usually is about $15.00-$18.00 for any one of these types of books.  So Ebayers are making alot of money selling them for $25.00-$40  Roll Eyes.
