I thought it looked really cool and since I have quite a few old patterns for thing Ill never make I figured why not decoupage my sewing Table .. so tell me watcha think ..

the light spots arent really AS light .. as they are in these pics ...also I may add a few more layers off pattern pieces for even more texture .. when I get some more decaupage medium ..

Hello everyone!

OK OK First things first...Pinafores are really NOT My cup of tea ! they look cute on a lot of people but ..not really my style ..But they do seem to be excessively popular lately .. and since I was given a large stash of bibs ( which I do not wear either ) I decided to whip up a quick " BiB-Afore" for fun and practice .. which Ill prolly pawn off on someone ..lol .. any way it took literally like 10 min to make! and it did turn out kind cute " I think" what are your opinions ??

before ( oh yeah can you believe I remembered a before pic!)

10 min. later

283  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Pink poka dots and skulls ! on: July 06, 2007 01:10:46 PM
Hello ! Smiley
I finally broke into my stash  Wink ( aka 1 yard ) of pirate skull fabric .. I really wanted to make it stretch so ... ofcorse ( I'm sure your getting sick of them by now Embarrassed But Damn I love making them . Grin.) corsets ! lol... so here they are ..
I'm really happy with the pink one because I made my own binding outta some remaining pink poka dot fabric ... But I didint have quite enough so I'm gonna just use a lil plain black to finish of the back to panels .. I think it will be OK ..what do you guys think ??
also I used some store bought Cluny lace for the details on the all black and skull one ..
Please tell me what you think !  Wink

I lined them both with this cute camo flannel ( I dunno why but I love sewing flannel ! lately )

Thanks for looking  as always ! Have a great day/night

284  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Road trip Hat .. with pic heavy tute ! pix fixed! on: June 27, 2007 05:22:54 PM
Hello everyone ,
I'm obsessed with making hats now ..So I made another one this time for my sister(Anda) , we are infamous for getting lost every single time we take a road trip , so I made her an official road trip hat to wear an those occasions , I used some really great road sign flannel ...I also made a pictorial tute .. so I'm sorry for the excess of photos , I just find pics alot easier to understand than purely written directions...

 So here we go ...

first here are the pattern pieces you need , the top /circle, the crown , the brim and the brim insert

you must cut 2tops , 2 brims and 2 crowns ,

Now you sew the sides of the each crown giving you a inner and outer crown piece .. you then pin the top to the crown like so

stitch and now you have a cap!

make your inner and outer caps insert them into one another and stitch ( this is when a serger comes in very handy

Now sit the cap aside and begin work on your brim ..

stitch the sides of the brim the same way as the crown .. and make 2 ( inner and outer) this is also where you add your brim insert for stability

now stitch the brims together around the outer edge.. and flip right side out , then Iron and pin in place like this

now its time to do your rows of top stitching around 10 rows will be needed.. to give the quilted effect and add structure

then simply attach brim to cap and WA la there you have it a super quick and simple fishermans hat

inner view of liner

thanks so much for looking and I hope the tute is easy enough to understand fell free to ask if you need anything explained better ( ill try my best )
Id really love to see any of you versions of this hat so please post if you make one !

Have a great day/night
285  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / my very first HAT! on: June 26, 2007 08:36:30 PM
Hello everyone,
The other day i was at the dollar store and I found a Fishermans Hat with great anchor fabric  ..I didint like the fabric at all for a hat but I wanted it to make some wrist cuffs and a patch out of it..so i bought it for the material . then before I cut if up I thought of My boy friends sister ( Linda) - She always wears fishermans style hats ..and she had just commented on how she liked some semi-asain cartoonish- fabric I had .. so I decided to take the hat apart by picking all the stitches and then made a hard pattern .. so i can keep it and make more .... if she likes it here it is my first attempt at a Fishermans Hat.

Warning .. I don't look good in hats !

here is the pattern and original hat

I lined it with the same fabric

here are some close ups .. modeled by mt latest severed head.( she dosnt have a name yet, and she came with the lovely marker tattoo and half an eye ! )

I also sandwished a layer of thick fabric in the brim for more stability..

This is my very first ever attempt at hat making so Id really really love some feed back .. All openions and suggestions welcome..

If she likes this one I'm thinking of making another out of really nice brocade..
thanks for looking
 Have a great night/day

Here is  You guessed it another corset .. but I'm really kinda proud of this one ... Its my first time working with real leather .. and it happened on accident along time ago I got a nice leather jacket on sale for like 12 bucks.. it was great but then my dog ate half of it  Angry Sad ... But the other day Hobby Lobby was having a huge sale as they often do.. and I found this awesome cowbow/southwestern print bandanna ...for ONLY 23 CENTS  !  Grin I wanted to make a corset with it , but it wasn't quite enough ...  Huh so flash of Genius .. and I think of the leather coat SO I put the 2 together ...
Also I made the matching bracelet & bolo ( it still needs beads ) and i reconed the Hat ages ago ....( plain hat + spray paint + patch and piercing .... and alot of bending ! )
any way without further ado .. The Cowboy corset

the back ( I acually made it a lil big .. so Ill prollly add straps )...and you cant really tell in the pics but there are 2 rows of boning in the back aswell

290  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Pin Stripes , Lace and Fancy Red Snapps ! on: June 09, 2007 10:47:11 AM
Hello ,

Here is a quick little skirt I whipped up last night ...it is for some reason super hard to photograph....its grey and lighter grey pin stripe...I decided to keep it pretty much flat , but with a little pleated part in the front ( similar to a skirt I already owned )...I was gonna go puffy with it .. but the pinstripes demanded something a bit more sleek ..and I didint want a plain mini ... so this is the compromise.. Cheesy Wink any way I was also going to just hem the bottom plain .. but when I realized I had such Awesome red Snaps I decided to add the red lace at the bottom too .. any way thank you for looking and please tell me what you think ... oh also the waist of the skirt is lined with cute ghost fabric and the bottom is 2 separate layers of the pinstripe .. because it was a lil thin...

close up of the pleaty part

Close up of the cool red Snaps

Thanks again for taking the time to look...
 Have a great day

P.s. sorry for the not so great pics . and honestly the skirt dosnt look so splotchy and dirty in real life
