2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / once the cigars are gone... on: April 20, 2008 04:30:58 PM
ok. i didn't smoke all the cigars for these cigar purses cause then i would be hurling. anyways i made these awhile back but didn't get around to posting em. hope you like em. their not quite finished yet. i tend to start something, move onto another thing and end up with a bunch of half finished stuff!

this one is made from some awsome shiny/ kinda silky fabric i got on sale. there's a guitar near the bottom of the purse. the handle is a faux pearl necklace i had laying around. it still needs a liner

this one is my fave. it's a junko mizuno inspired purse. the characters are painted on but i have to finish painting. the handle is a vintage necklace.

this i also love. it's fur that came from a vintage  coat i had. well the coat got ruined but i salvaged some of the fur. i don't have a liner in this one or a handle. i came up blank as what to use for a handle on this one. if ya'll got any ideas i would love to hear em!

this just shows the inside of the fur purse

so whatta you guys think?

this is the before pic.  the lamp base and stuff is actually gold. [i got a lil carried away and started painting but all the rest is original.] ugh i hate hate hate gold! in fact before me and my hubby got married, i told him if he was ever thinking about getting me a wedding ring it better not have gold anywhere on it or i'll say no! ewww and flowers! i can't stand flowers on anything in the house. it's so granny like to me! so ugly!

ok and the finished. it's so awsome! it goes perfectly with my downstairs "hang-out room" it's kinda decorated with all the cool bar stuff we have. Vintage glasses and paintings and whatnot.

how i made:

first the glass plates were screwed in so i took em out. i unwillingly kept em cause i thought if i break em maybe i can use em later. then to  get rid of the hidious gold. i spray painted the whole thing brown. [the first pic of the before was a diff color and i decided against it cause it was too shiny] then when that was dry and sufficiently aired out so i didn't bring the spray paint smell in the house i  took and strung fishing line from the holes where the screws were. lil dab of hot glue in places you can't see to make sure the line would hold sum weight. next it's time to put the glass on. I used beer bottles. green rolling rock ones and the brown Bud ones. all you do is sandwhich em on the line with hot glue. then it's done! Attaching the glass is actually the longest part cause you have to wear gloves to make sure you don't get glass shards in your hand. also a note this isn't the kinda lamp you'd put somewhere your kid [or anyone who like shiny's!] is going to get ahold of it. the glass is sharp! i really wish the pics did it justice cause when the light hits the glass its so pretty! so there it is my entry! hope ya'll like it!

5  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / a tribute to the man in black: Johnny Cash! on: August 19, 2007 02:52:33 PM
I made this lil knicknack for my hubby b/c he loves johnny cash [i do too!} i always save cool glass bottles in hopes of finding a use for em later on. this one was a yager bottle. I found sum mag pics of Johnny and did a kinda mosiac look with modge podge onto the bottle. I like the way it came out especially when light comes through it! oh my cat Skipper kept insisting on walking through everytime i took a pic so finally i got him to be still by putting the bottle next to him!  Grin

6  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / wooden bamboo purse! on: August 19, 2007 02:43:46 PM
this is a purse i made awhile back but i love it and thought i'd share. it's made out of these wooden circle bamboo placemats i bought at good ol wallmart. they cost like $1 each and i had to have em. then i had to think hard how to make em into a purse. well sum green fabric, sewing, hotgluing, and finding the vintage necklace for a handle later it was tranformed into a purse!! also you can't see it but there was a closure on it made of metal vintage earrings with a stone in it but i have to fix it back cause my baby yanked it off!

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Hello Kitty..enough said on: August 01, 2007 07:05:56 PM
ok i think this can go here since i made this to carry something. So i was at a store and seen these Hello Kitty "money holders" {it could also be used for cigs} anyways not wanting to pay the price for it i left sadly. Then when we got home my husband said" hey you do know your ciggeretes will fit in an altoids tin don't you?!" well I'll be darned! {i'm currently in an altoid tin swap} i couldn't beleive i didn't think of it! So here's my totally awsome kitty ciggy case!

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / i had to try sweets4ever idea plastic soldier bowl on: August 01, 2007 06:53:32 PM
so as soon as i saw sweets4ever's army and dino bowl i had to try. i wasn't going to post this outta respect for the one she did but she wanted to see it so here it goes. Excuse the crappy pic cause apparantly i can't get my cam to take a good pic here lately! oh btw i love all the gaps in mine. these melted army men kinda remind me of this scary movie but anyways. i used a metal corn can to get my shape.

well i am a junk a holic! I keep all kinds of crazy things to use in my crafts. I also love stopping on the side of the road for peoples junk. Not trash day but the other day when people throw out chairs, old yard ornament.. all kinds of stuff. This is my crown made of an old belt, bolts from pawpaws junk, shiny jewels, pearls and corral from a vintage necklace i've had since i was little, metal, and copper metal from where we remodeled the kitchen. I'm in the process of getting a better pic so bare with me.

10  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / my first collection painting/collage on: June 24, 2007 02:52:35 PM
ok so i intended on showing both of the two i've completed but the sec one has a bit more nudity {its a half woman half octopus} but i thought it wasn't appropriate for here. anyways i painted this on wood w/ sum collage on it. i got the image of the lady from a nudie mag.. how embarassing..anyways it was such a pretty and tasteful pic i thought the woman looked like a mermaid. there are also lyrics from a song my husband wrote. the whole collection i'm doing are lady animal creatures and lyrics or sayings that fit in...plus a few other additions like 3-d peices coming out of the wood and i guess thats about it. I'd love some feedback on this!
