1  Re: Postcard Swap Round 6 in The Swap Gallery by honeystarr on: September 23, 2008 06:05:11 PM
o.k. so i am finally back and thought i would post what i received. unfortunately the one i got from zigg13pra got misplaced so i don't have that pic. [thanks hubby for cleaning the living room!] but it was cool. oh i don't think he threw it away he just put it somewhere and i can't find it. anyways it was black and had this clear stuff over it. inside was polka dots  and i thoroughly enjoyed shaking it for a loong time. i guess you could kinda say it was like a snoglobe in postcard form. also i did a personal swap postcard and i don't have that pic either. don't worry i'm still working on yours! oh and while i'm at it i'll post the ones i sent cause only one person [Rhondas] posted picsof mine.

here's the two from Rhondas. i love Hk and that one went straight to my fridge. I got a surprise 2nd one and i laughed so hard at the kitty i almost pee'd myself.

closeup of kitty

heres my pinup [another love of mine] postcard from veganxwater

this one promptly went near my pinupcollection.

Thanks so much for all of em all you ladies! and sorry the 2 others got missplaced1

k so here's the ones i sent

RhondaS- chibi girl

veganxwater-pinup n lace

zigg13pra- mouse

i had fun drawing the chibi girl and the mouse and i loved that pic of the pinup type girl.

ok. so i'm late getting the pics and my partner already posted a couple so here's the rest of package # 3.
the awsome star purse. i meant to get a closeup of my name on the pulls but i forgot. currently you can see the bag is in use cause it has my crochet stuff in it. i love this so much thank you babiestarlight! also 2 matching small purses.

this is the closeup of the takeout boxes. which i had been wanting and when i went to get some i couldn't  find any! i think she can read my mind!  Grin oh and inside the zebra [ a fave print of mine] was zebra tape! i'd never seen this kind of tape before and i almost peed myself in excitement. i know i know i am easily made happy by simple things.

this is a closeup of the hello kitty magnets from a chinese restraunt. these are so awsome! and hello kitty rub ons. i can't wait to use em! and a bag of swirly gummy bears. which are so pretty! this was also something i had meant to buy for a project and never got around to. but these ones are way more awsome cause there all  swirly colored!

the things not pictured on closeup are 2 bookmarks. i don't think they showed up in the first pic and the closeups were not working. their chinese lucky coins on a natural fiber looking strap. also the book labels. now when i lend my books out maybe the person will remember their mine and send em back!  Cheesy

thank you so much to my partner cause i loved all my packages and thanks to the organizer/co organizers for making this run great!

oh yea. i hope my partner can get pics of mine cause i forgot to take em before i sent out!

5  once the cigars are gone... in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by honeystarr on: April 20, 2008 04:30:58 PM
ok. i didn't smoke all the cigars for these cigar purses cause then i would be hurling. anyways i made these awhile back but didn't get around to posting em. hope you like em. their not quite finished yet. i tend to start something, move onto another thing and end up with a bunch of half finished stuff!

this one is made from some awsome shiny/ kinda silky fabric i got on sale. there's a guitar near the bottom of the purse. the handle is a faux pearl necklace i had laying around. it still needs a liner

this one is my fave. it's a junko mizuno inspired purse. the characters are painted on but i have to finish painting. the handle is a vintage necklace.

this i also love. it's fur that came from a vintage  coat i had. well the coat got ruined but i salvaged some of the fur. i don't have a liner in this one or a handle. i came up blank as what to use for a handle on this one. if ya'll got any ideas i would love to hear em!

this just shows the inside of the fur purse

so whatta you guys think?

a troll [how did you know i collected these when i was lil?]  hello kitty fan, mini button maker [ i played with it all afternoon!], chococat earrings, chinese lipgloss [yummy!]  hk socks and stationary, chinese paperdoll and book, chinese diy craft felt bag kit, and a lil chinese takeout box w/ chocolates from china. [i ate most of the candy. real yummy!]

10  Tiffany's Nightmare [img plump] *new pics! in CHALLENGE 23 ENTRIES by honeystarr on: December 01, 2007 08:09:25 AM
this is the before pic.  the lamp base and stuff is actually gold. [i got a lil carried away and started painting but all the rest is original.] ugh i hate hate hate gold! in fact before me and my hubby got married, i told him if he was ever thinking about getting me a wedding ring it better not have gold anywhere on it or i'll say no! ewww and flowers! i can't stand flowers on anything in the house. it's so granny like to me! so ugly!

ok and the finished. it's so awsome! it goes perfectly with my downstairs "hang-out room" it's kinda decorated with all the cool bar stuff we have. Vintage glasses and paintings and whatnot.

light on

close up

how i made:

first the glass plates were screwed in so i took em out. i unwillingly kept em cause i thought if i break em maybe i can use em later. then to  get rid of the hidious gold. i spray painted the whole thing brown. [the first pic of the before was a diff color and i decided against it cause it was too shiny] then when that was dry and sufficiently aired out so i didn't bring the spray paint smell in the house i  took and strung fishing line from the holes where the screws were. lil dab of hot glue in places you can't see to make sure the line would hold sum weight. next it's time to put the glass on. I used beer bottles. green rolling rock ones and the brown Bud ones. all you do is sandwhich em on the line with hot glue. then it's done! Attaching the glass is actually the longest part cause you have to wear gloves to make sure you don't get glass shards in your hand. also a note this isn't the kinda lamp you'd put somewhere your kid [or anyone who like shiny's!] is going to get ahold of it. the glass is sharp! i really wish the pics did it justice cause when the light hits the glass its so pretty! so there it is my entry! hope ya'll like it!
