It whispered... I need spunk... and I said fear not my plain one... spunk you shall have...

well, when you are my husband you ask the body man to save your old front grill....

now what you don't know is my hubby has a knack for making furniture and other things outta car parts.... so when he wrecked our truck he knew he wanted to salvage the front grill.... and his creation???

yea it stuck it in our hall... but wait.. that's not all!!
(yea it rhymed AND sounded a bit like a info-mercial I'm a dork and I know it)
it's a hall light!

works great to turn on in the middle of the night... coolest night light we've ever had  Wink Cheesy

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / YUK to YUM my couch transformation.... on: June 17, 2007 08:16:51 PM
ok so I did this about a year ago... and never got around to posting pics.... I know... I know... I'm a bad craftster... lol

ok so pic this

all over a couch.... *shudders*
sry that was the only before pic I could handle

my doggy had to be a model he's such a ham for the cam, Grin
if you see on the wrinkles on the right side of the couch don't worry, that's been fixed since then.  Wink As you can see I added my first silk screening attempt to the back of the couch, it's mine and my hubby's nick names in a logo I thought up one day.

it's not the greatest, but not bad considering I used the mod podge method

close up of the cool graffiti fabric I found at joann's that's on one side of the cushions and on both ends of the couch

Let me know what you all think??

I'm working on recovering some kitchen chairs, I'll try and post those alil sooner this time.
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Finally got around to making my own seatbelt buckle belt!! on: September 22, 2006 11:52:22 AM
It's not as hard as you'd think....
the worst part was trying to find a metal belt adjuster, because all they sell around here are plastic ones.

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Nintendo + belt + me = on: September 22, 2006 11:50:20 AM

found an old nintendo controler and just had to turn it into a buckle, it's attached to the top of a sk8r type belt buckle, had to use pieces off of two belts to make it but it was worth it!

oh I forgot to mention I left it where the buttons still work!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / you can have your dino hoodie.... I've got a YOSHI HOODIE! (Picie pudgie) on: September 22, 2006 11:45:39 AM
OK so actually my husband does... I made the mistake of showing him all the dino hoodies on here so he's like  Shocked you gotta make me a yoshi hoodie!! so with his idea and my sewing/recon skillz (haha)
the yoshi hoodie was born! (sorry if the pics are alil big!)

he's mimicking yoshi...

the whole white belly is a pocket and I added velcro to the original pocket, for keeping things scure ie wallet, keys, ect..

Here's a pic of yoshi (from the nintendo Mario game) for those of you that don't know

I just got two hoodies from steve and barry's for 6.98 a peice, one green one and one XXXL white one they had embrodery on them but I was going to cover it up anyway, and the white belly is cut it outta the back part of the XXXL white hoodie.
Do I have the greatest husband in the world or what?! he didn't JUST ask for a dino hoodie but wanted it a yoshi hoodie and asked me to put thumb holes in it too!!! I'm the luckiest girl in the world! Grin Grin Cheesy

Input would be awesome! thanks!!!  Grin
10  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / is this worth it???? on: July 28, 2006 12:02:25 AM
Hello my fellow craftsters!
I've been wanting to learn how to silkscreen. And I'm attempting to read the huge thread of "I WANNA SILKSCREEN!"
but I was at micheals today, and they had the SPEEDBALL Diazo Photo Emulsion Kit http://www.misterart.com/store/view.cfm?group_id=3554559&store=001 on clearance for $7.00!!! reg 24.99. and the screens
http://www.misterart.com/store/view/001/group_id/1531/Speedball-Screen-Printing-Frames.htm for either $5 or $7 also on clearance was the screen filler for $5 http://www.misterart.com/store/view/001/group_id/649/Speedball-Screen-Filler.htm
Do you think this would be a good thing to start out on? and compared to that site it seems like a really great price  Shocked
if this is a good thing please let me know!!
clearance doesn't last forever... (that's why I hid em  Roll Eyes )
what are some sites that would be good for info to get started?
