How is everything coming along for everyone? I'm getting there, and hope to post it sometime next week.

I actually like Orange except when it's the super tacky 70's orange. My sister painted on of the walls in her room a really nice orange to match with the rest of the yellowish beige walls. Perhaps I'll steal some of her paint for when Orange comes along.

"Whoever said orange was the new pink was seriously disturbed."
12  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: difficult boyfriend on: May 11, 2006 06:25:09 PM
How about a T-shirt with a dj or car theme or even just printed with an italian flag or soccer stuff ( I know I'm stereotyping here) . Or you could personalize a cd wallet and add in a mix cd with his fav songs. I'm not sure how crafty this is, but how about a model VW car that you make from a kit. There is always baked goods, that stuff never fails Smiley

Hope that helps some Smiley
13  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / Gardening mom and bfs mom... what is appropriate? on: May 08, 2006 06:21:35 PM
Hey everyone,
I was hoping to get some input into my mothers day gift. My mom hates clutter so in other words crafts = clutter to her Smiley She is a big gardner though and so I was hoping to make her something garden related. At thiis point the only idea I can come up with is to take pictures of flowers in the garden and make a calendar out of it. What do you guys think? Any other ideas?
Also, I want to make something for my future mother in-law ... what is too much and what is too littlle? I don't know her taste very well.

They will be meeting for the first time on mothers day so I dont want to make something where my mom or my to be mom will feel aakward...

Argh procrastination and confusion have left me in a bit of a pickle

I love your bag! It looks like something I would definitely buy in a boutique. The material is great and very spring-esque. I haven't heard of 'Healthy Back' bags before, apart from it being ergonomic, do you find it being more comfortable to wear? Although it doesn't show in the pictures, from your post it sounds like it was frustrating to make, but yay for you pushing through, some good inspiration for the rest us Smiley

Hi everyone,

I'm 24 years old. I've lived in Montreal my entire life and absolutely love it here. I tend to get excited about everything and thus sometimes find myself going on different tangents with my interests.

At the moment I'm studying computer engineering but when I'm done with that I'm hoping to go into pediatrics since kids really are my true passion. ( It's a good thing I enjoy school because I'm going to be in it for a long time to come Wink )

I have a great boyfriend who I've been with for a year and we are planning on getting engaged this summer. He is pretty much the make version of me although I think he might be more crafty than I am!

I love to sew and I'm just starting out with knitting. I want to start screen printing and stenciling this summer among a plethora of other things. Apart from school and crafting, I'm big on....

Video games ( kingdom hearts and everquest could be called dangerous addictions Smiley )
Reading, (anything and everything),
Music (especially making mix Cd's and covers)
Travelling (ever been to Bio-Bay? me neither but I really want to)
Sports ( sometimes that means sitting on the couch, having a beer and watching a game on TV ... I do come from Montreal where hockey is life .... at other times that means I'm on a snowboard or I'm going camping )

Well there are some tidbits to start off with. I'd love to write to anyone, no matter what age or location. Hopefully we can exchange some crafty ideas and maybe some little goodies Smiley

Hope everyone has a great night!

One of the places I go to for fabric is Le Chateau Warehouse at Namur Metro station, just down the street from the Village de Valeur on Jean-Talon. The fabrics are similar to the ones they use on their own clothing and sometimes you can find some pretty nice stuff. It's hidden away in the mens side of the store on the back wall. Just a note, you buy it by the cardboard spool and not by the meter, so if you are only looking for a little bit this might not be the best place for it.

Also, I think someone mentioned this in another thread, Debouk is a great fabric store on St-Hubert. The store they have in Laval is closing and is liquidating there stuff, I haven't been yet but hopefully I will go this week. Here is the link:

If anyone is interested in going fabric/supply shopping together let me know, I'm always looking for a craft buddy.

What a beautiful bag! The lining fabric is awesome too! I have been looking for a bag similar to that for awhile now but I think you've inspired me to make my own  Smiley
