I have been trying to keep up with my cardmaking for the spring and summer holidays- here are a few. Some are everyday cards- some holidays-

Spring will come!- This is a card with an ATC mounted as the design in the middle!

Made for a "green" card swap-

Father's Day is coming!!-
22  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Jane Austen Swap Altered Tag Book-- on: April 25, 2007 11:26:57 AM
I just completed the Jane Austen swap and wound up altering a Tag shapedscrapbook into a Jane Austen book about her life and works- lots of pics- but I was so proud of it! My first altered type book-

The before pic- found these on clearance in Wal-Mart- plain white pages in a travel themed book-

A few of the pages as I reconstructed the base pages-

The new front cover-

Each page had facts about her life, or pictures, quotes, or details about her books and movies-

The completed booklet redesigned- (waxed paper sticking out is for shipping purposes)

So, what do you think?
23  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / Big Dog..Little Dog..A bedtime story on: April 14, 2007 10:41:33 AM
This was my teenage son's favorite book of all time! Still drags it out to look at it sometimes (which is rather sad at 17!!). So I had to do a salute to this sweet book about best friends. I even included a pic of our much loved, dog-eared copy. These were completely hand drawn and marker colored.

Seperate- open

Our copy of this much loved book-

26  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / March is National Craft Month- on: March 04, 2007 06:21:12 AM
As March is National Craft Month and I didn't want it to slip away unnoticed I am hereby hijacking Original Youth's Scavenger Hunt Thread and turning it into our own salute to Craft Month! Each week for the 4 weeks in March I will post an ATC challenge meant to keep us working in new, original ways. Most of these challenges involve using items you already own in your own home. So don't worry- these should not cost much, if any extra money for you to do.
The results of each weeks challenges will be posted right in each thread here- not the swap gallery, as these won't be swapped unless you do it privately. I will post each challenge on Sunday and you have till Sat. midnight (EST) to post your entry. A new challenge thread will appear the next day.
So here we go-
Week 1- That crafty material known as Craft Foam
Materials Needed-
Craft Foam- (if you have some- use it- if you need some you only need i sheet of white that you can color)
Assorted acrylic paints (or Sharpie/Permanent markers)

This may be the only craft that may involve buying a new material, if you don't have sheets of craft foam in the house. You can use other types of foam sheets if needed (like the foam from the butchers dept) but that might require more work to finish. Most craft store sell the sheets of craft foam for about 50 cents each, if you have a store near you. If you are buying a sheet of foam for this- I would recommend white, as you can then color it as you wish.
Using the craft foam- cut out a base for your ATC. Then use the remaining pieces of the foam to create the design of your atc. You can draw shapes right on the foam, with pencil or pen, to cut out and use. Paint/color the individual pieces of foam to create your picture amd assemble. If you are using markers on the foam - let it dry very well as most markers will smear a bit on this material. Try to use a thicker glue, or glue stick to adhere the foam pieces, although any adhesive will work for this.
When completed post image in this thread.

Week 2 Challenge-
This week is so super simple!! All you need is cardboard and magazines. See the message on pg 4 for the details!!

Week 3 Challenge-
Craft ATC's in the Kitchen-  Using cardboard , or any stiff paper for a base, glue on some food items from your kitchen to make a background. Suggested items include- dried beans, rice, salt, cereal, corn meal, etc... (you get the idea). You can create an entire picture using food items if you want, or layer pictures or sticker, embellishments or fibers on your background. No paint please! Just food and paper.!
Now go craft!!

28  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / 5 lines ATC swap on: February 24, 2007 01:20:21 PM
Quite a few people seemed interested in a drawing game my sister and I used to play when I was younger, and we had time to kill. It requires no real drawing skills- just some imagination. No fancy tools required either- as long as you have a pencil, pen, or crayons even you can do it!

The directions- The first person draws 5 lines on a blank ATC card, they would then mail it to their partner (assigned) who would then look at the 5 lines and try to make a picture using them. When completed they would post their finished ATC in the gallery for their partner to see, as well as any other players and spectators.

To see an example I made recently (the original posting for this) click on this link
Anyhow, I was thinking about sign-ups mid to late March for about 2 weeks with 1 week to send to partner and 1 week to post finished picture. Sound good?? ANyone interested??

Welcome to my gallery- you never know what you'll find here. My art is as eclectic as my music. Also quite sarcastic most of the time!! Enjoy!! Patti

30  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / My lopsided collection- anyone else have this quandry? on: January 10, 2007 05:10:06 AM
My collection of ATC's has recently topped the 200 plus mark. This is a mark I set for myself when I was approached by my local library to mount an exhibit of these beauties. But I noticed that out of 200 plus cards- only 10 or 12 of them are my work. I know ATC's are meant to be traded, but I also know they were interested in showing my work also, as I am the hometown girl doing the exhibit, but it feels weird to make an ATC just to keep it. Anyone else have tthis conundrum? I don't want to call it a problem- as it isn't really a problem, but does it bother you when people look at your collection and ask where your work is??
