12  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Pin-Up Girls ATC swap Anyone???? on: May 22, 2008 06:47:08 PM
I have been fascinated by the art of the 1940's thru 1960's of men such as Vargas & co. They were such detailed paintings and truly were sexier than the photos in girlie magazines that they were the precursor to.
If you would like to check out some of the artists this is a great page for inspiration.-

So let me hear from you- is this a good one to work on?

14  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Trying my hand at the "Inchies" on: April 04, 2008 08:57:24 AM
Well, recently back into papercrafting so I decided to give the newest paper fad a try- the Inchie. I joined a "Any Theme" swap (on another site-sshhh! Don't tell!) where I only had to make 3 to swap- good for us starters. Here are my Geisha Inchies. Sorry some are hard to see but the flash madw the gold acrylic accents too solid- they are actually sheer tint.

16  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / A Special Thank You to My Fellow Craftsters on: May 29, 2007 07:33:43 AM
I would like to send a big thank you to all the wonderful members who sent me messages of condolences after the recent death of my husband. I was not often online over the past 2 weeks, but it was so nice to log on every once in awhile and always find a message or two from you folks. It made me doubly proud to be a memeber of such a supportive group- not just artistically supportive, but emotionally also.
Sincerely, Patti M/pjmclnj

A special thanks to Teeisme who actually designed me a Sympathy ATC- it is beautiful! Thank you Tee!
17  COOKING / Dessert / Graham cracker toffee cookies on: May 02, 2007 07:06:25 PM
This is the ultimate Quick & Easy cookie to make- it is almost like a candy when you are done.

Graham Cracker Toffee cookies-
1 sleeve graham crackers
1 cup almond slices
1&1/2 stick butter
1 cup sugar

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line cookie pan with aluminum foil. (very important!) Melt butter in small saucepan over low heat. Add sugar and stir until melted, keeping the flame low. While the sugar is melting, break apart the crackers into bite-size pieces placed all over the pan. Sprinkle the almonds on top. When sugar and butter are smooth, turn heat off and let cool for 30 secs. While still hot pour over crackers and almonds, trying to cover completely.
Place in 325 oven for 8-10 mins, or until dark golden brown. Let cool for 5 mins, then peel off foil and break apart into pieces. YUM!!

19  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) / My latest project- my first altered book!! Maybe good for ATC's? on: April 30, 2007 08:02:40 AM
If anyone would like to see my first altered book I made for the Jane Austen swap I am putting a link here. It was a tag shaped mini scrapbook that was on clearance in Wal mart- I liked it so much I am making one to display a collection from my ATC's. I'll post that one if I ever finish it- but it's like this-scroll to the bottom of the page-
20  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / J-U-N-E ATC & stuff Swap on: April 29, 2007 08:45:27 AM
This would be an ATC & ATC supplies swap. Each person would make/send one ATC or item for each letter in the month. For example- The month of MAY - 1) M- Mouse ATC
                             2) A- a pair of Angel wings
                                      suitable for an ATC
                             3) Y- Yellow ATC

That's it- Pretty simple. We will be doing June to start so each participant would have to make/send 4 items for J-U-N-E.
I was hoping for sign-ups starting May 6th- for 2 weeks, with a mail out by June 10th, so that players receive their items before June is over.
Any takers??
