1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / "I'm No Angel" Onesie made from t-shirt on: November 14, 2009 08:39:22 PM
Okay . . . So I got my inspiration from https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=186060.0. (Cute kid by the way.) and decided to create my daughter her own unique onesies from t-shirts. So far I have only made one but it is super cute and couldn't wait to make the others to share. Here it is (let me know what you think!) . . .

This was the t-shirt I bought at Goodwill before I ripped it up. I used one of her store-bought onesies as a guide.

Finished project without the baby. Didn't have any snaps or velcro, so I had to use buttons.

My 3 1/2 month old baby, Alexis, wearing her new onesie proudly.
2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Bumblebee Transformer and Cabbage Patch Doll (6 pics and video link) on: November 02, 2009 09:45:25 PM
Here are my two kids Halloween costumes this year (2009). My 5 year old son was Bumblebee from the Transformers and my 3 month old was a Cabbage Patch Doll. Sorry, pics of son aren't the best, but if you click on the last picture it will send you to a video of him "transforming"!

3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / My Cabbage Patch Doll on: November 02, 2009 06:02:10 PM
My daughter is only 3 months old, so after doing hours of Internet searching of figuring out what she should be for Halloween . . . she became a Cabbage Patch Doll!

I used a Route 44 cup box from Sonic to wrap around her stroller. After painting the box yellow and cutting it into shape of a Cabbage Patch Doll box, I printed out some Cabbage Patch Doll coloring pages, colored, cut and glued them to the box. I lined the inside of the box with some flowery gift wrap, lined the seat with a pink sheet, and I even added a "certificate" that included her name and birth date.
For her wig, I just sewed yard to one of her baby hats. I created a half-up / half-down pigtail hairstyle and added pink ribbon.

Everyone thought she was a REAL doll and we had to stop while trick or treating, I don't know HOW many times, because people wanted her picture!

I also created my 5 year old son's costume as the Transformer Bumblebee, and it actually transforms . . . but since I can only post one costume on here, I'm posting my daughter since her pictures came out better than my sons.
Thanks for looking and I hope everyone enjoys Alexis' first Halloween costume!
4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Skating costume? on: August 22, 2008 08:50:33 PM
I work at a Sonic restaurant as a skating car hop. I just found out that we're allowed to wear costumes to work as long as they're family friendly, nothing slutty (though I wish I could). Does anyone have any ideas? I really DON'T want to do the traditional 50's poodle skirt thing!

P.S. I wear speed skates, not roller blades!
5  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Any ideas for a Spiderman bedroom for 3 yr old boy? on: December 14, 2007 10:08:19 PM
My little boy is 3 1/2 years old and just got his new Spiderman bed and table and chairs today. He's wanting his room decorated with other Spiderman stuff. Do you have any ideas of anything that I could make? I can't paint on the white walls (landlord said no). I would love to create some sort of city skyline with twinkling lights to kinda use as a nightlight. Any ideas on anything???
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Old Scanner to New Light Box! on: September 01, 2007 08:39:32 PM
I don't have any pictures of it yet, but I just found an old scanner
that someone was throwing away. I picked it up, brought it home,
cleaned it, gutted it, threw in some clear Christmas lights, put the
top back on, and volia . . . a cheap light box! Now when I want to
trace something from a coloring book or whatever it'll be much easier!
Just had to share what I did . . .
7  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Costumes with an apron??? on: September 01, 2007 04:25:24 PM
I just found out that we're allowed to wear "family friendly" costumes at work for this Halloween. I'm a waitress and I would like to find a costume (or make one) that has an apron (or some kind of pockets) that I can keep straws and my tip money in. Any ideas?
8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Discussion and Questions / Digital Scrapbooking on: January 15, 2007 04:34:06 PM
Does anybody here do any digital scrapbooking? I'm just learning about it and would like some more info and tips.
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Don't paint the white walls! on: December 28, 2006 09:06:44 PM
I just moved into a new apartment and they won't let me paint. I'm sick and tired of looking at all the white! Anyone have any bright ideas of how I can decorate my walls?  Huh
10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Necktie Skirt like Kelly Clarkson's? on: December 25, 2006 11:06:22 PM
Does anyone know how to make a skirt out of neckties like the one Kelly Clarkson wore on "From Justin to Kelly"?

Here are some pictures of her wearing it:

I like how hers is all different lengths and you can see a blue jean waist band at parts.

If anyone has any idea on how to recreate this skirt please let me know!
