1  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / My new favourite dress! on: September 03, 2008 11:21:46 AM
Butterick #5243

I usually wear about a 20-22 off the rack - I made this in size 22. It could *easily* stretch to fit larger sizes & still look great on them if you used the right jersey.

I followed the pattern exactly, made no alterations & I LOVE this.
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Road to Golden on: August 26, 2007 01:52:48 PM
I've finished my 'Road to Golden' from the Fall 2007 issue of Knitscene!

I love this sweater! I switched up the colours a little bit & added an extra chart repeat to the length since it would have been way too short.

I used Ella Rae Classic for the MC & the dark purple, the other colours are a mix of Galway & Patons Classic Merino. I can't wait for the weather to get cooler so I can wear this all. the. time.
3  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / ANNEgurumi doll on: August 15, 2007 05:42:45 AM
I'm part of a book club craft-along. A book was chosen & then everyone had to make a craft inspired by the book. We read Anne of Green Gables & I made this little Amigurumi style Anne doll!

I made it up as I went along, underneath her dress her body is a little bit funny shaped, but it's all good. I'm super happy with how she turned out! Now she just needs a straw hat & she's done!
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Boyfriend sweater done....and we still love each other. on: June 11, 2007 05:52:26 AM
Dodged the boyfriend sweater curse with this one!

I had knit him a different sweater for christmas but he didn't like it. So we looked through tons of patterns & found the Elizabeth Zimmerman Saddle Shoulder sweater (EZ is popular amongst boyfriends & husbands!) & he wanted grey...boring, but anything to make him happy. Right?

I used 12 balls of Elann Peruvian Wool (which, for the price is AWESOME & it comes in so many different colours..and they are Canadian) and 1 ball of Patons Classic Merino for the contrasting hem (which you can't see in the photo)

It took me about a month to make this & I'm SO happy with how it turned out. Too bad it's summer now & he probably won't be wearing a wool sweater for a while.

Boyfriend approved!
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Seersucker Dress on: June 09, 2007 06:36:04 PM
Today I finished the dress I've been working on!

I used a skirt pattern I made a while ago for the bottom & then drafted a top for it.

The belt is sort of an obi style wrap around thing made of broadcloth I had in my stash.

I've worn it all day & it's comfy & girly!
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Morse Code sweater for my boyfriend! on: December 10, 2006 05:06:35 PM
I knit this sweater top down raglan style for my boyfriend for christmas - the stripes in the middle are morse code - it says "my girlfriend knit this" (well, I messed up & didn't notice until way later - it *actually* says 'my girlfriennd knit this" ah well!)

Wheeee! I just need to wash it now! I used Knitpick's Swish superwash - so we'll see how it does in the dryer.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My squirrelly Swedish Mittens! on: November 12, 2006 05:07:40 PM
I just finished knitting my squirrelly swedish mittens! The awesome pattern is from elliphantom.com

I used Opal sock yarn for the squirrells & snow & Trekking XXL for the background.

I love them!
8  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / amigurumi christmas ornament on: November 12, 2006 05:02:54 PM

9  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Built by Wendy blouse! on: July 20, 2006 09:18:18 PM
Built by Wendy is my new freaking hero! She designed patterns for Simplicty & they go up to size 20!

I sewed this top tonight & *I* *LOVE* *IT* it fits awesome & I think it's really flattering to my pear shaped body.
(I posted this in the 'sewalong' board too, hope that's okay)

10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / cute stripey stretchy dress on: July 14, 2006 01:52:29 PM
I bought this fabric super cheap & it's really cute(can't tell from the not-so-good-photo... anyhow, I winged the pattern - I kept the front simple & nice-girl but put a deep V in the back:

I'm pretty happy with it! I want to make more dresses!
