1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Help Enchanted Evening Banquet on: January 17, 2007 10:24:04 PM
Hello! I just got volunteered to do the center pieces for a 25 table adult banquet for a chamber of commerce event coming up and I have no idea what to make. They gave me a $200 budget to work with so I think I have a few options. Any ideas? I automatically think fairies, flowers and white lights but how to make that a center piece? NO candles allowed in the venue to that's out. Any help is appreciated it's next month! I picked the colors dark blue, purple and silver.

2  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Fairy Peacock Princess and Pan Costumes!!!! on: November 05, 2006 11:03:41 PM

I love Amy Brown Faries so this year I made wings like hers with my own them.  I made a feather tiara with a peacock theme The wings are made a light weight sparkly fabric and I sewed four separate panelson the wings. I trimmed the fabric with black satin ribbon so I could feed the wire through sewn seem. I then  finished the trim with gold paint and I wrote love beauty and I believe in fairies on the wings. I also made the wings two ply so I could glue black feathers in between the wings for effect. I decorated the wings with black feathers and peacock feather. I purchased the corset but added matching trim from the fabric  of the circle skirt I made with green suede like material. Green animal print. I used the extra green fabric from my wings to make a petticoat for my skirt. The skirt is also lined with black feather trim. I love this costume!!! Smiley

For my boyfriends costume I found a green leopard print fur to match my skirt and made him some furry pants with a tie wastband. I also made him a pleather warrior skirt to go over the top of the pants and some gladiator style wristbands. he made his own head piece.

i had a great time on this costume. If you want more pictures please email me i will be happy to share.

3  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 11 ENTRIES / Faery-Day dreaming in a Champagne Glass :) on: May 02, 2006 11:23:04 PM
Hello Everyone! Sorry I had to change the name... it was late at night... Here is my first craftster effort inspired by Amy Brown Art. I sleep to dream and quite often I dream of a place where I can relax and unwind Smiley I started with this picture from St. Vincent De Paul's and it kind of took a life of it's own. I thought this picture was quite tacky but I fell instantly in love with the soft green velvet trim around the guilded gold frame.

And here is the finished product..... *Poof! (insert faery dust here)

This is a scanned copy, the reflection off the wings and all the glitter made it hard to get a clean picture. The faeries are 3D and the wings come up off the page as if they're wings are in a flutter while they are gracefully resting in their cocktail/champagne glasses. I used a lot of different things to create texture.

This was so fun! I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed making it. I think I'm going to mail this to my friend for her birthday. Thanks for stopping by
4  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Queen of the Damned Costume on: April 24, 2006 08:54:55 PM
Hello! Last year I went as Acacia Queen of the Damned. I didn't love the movie but I love Vampires! I made the head piece with a thin plastic head band and some card board that I cut up and glued together. Once I had the frame in place I spray painted it silver and used some black lightly to make it look old and then I finished it by gluing some jewels on it and some sequins. I also made the arm bands and wrist bands. The jewelry I purchased along with the skirt which I covered with sequins to match the head piece! Smiley

here is the original pic-

And my interpretation- I wish I had her body Smiley
5  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Fairy Wings!!!! Three sets that I made for the Labryinth of Jareth Ball on: April 23, 2006 06:07:32 PM
If you can't already tell I'm a little obsessed with fairies and every year in July I attend an annual event called the Labyrinth of Jareth ball www.labyrinthmasquerade.com in celebration of the movie "Labyrinth" People travel from all over to attend and they make the greatest costumes. It's early but I am trying to find some inspiration for this years event. Last year I made two sets of wings and my boyfriend's Pan costume. If anyone needs help making the wings feel free to ask questions. I structured the wings with industrial wire I purchased from Home Depot and then I made a pattern cut out the fabric and sewed them together so I could slide them over the wire frame. I finished them off by adding floral and ribbon touches to cover the straps which I also made of ribbon. The took many hours to make.  This is my first post and I'm so excited to have found this site! Feed back is always appreciated.

Ok here are some better pics let me know if they are bigger, I haven't got this posting pics thing down yet.
