11  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Re: Peppermint Twist on: May 14, 2004 03:25:49 PM
redbirdrae, it looks fantastic! wear it with pride.

and cassiemarie, i second (third?) the motion to post your conversions to 8's. i have some yarn that i bought because i thought it would look great in stripes a la peppermint twist--even though i knew it was too big, i couldn't resist the combo. i'd love to see how you converted it and try my hand at it too.
12  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re: Green Fair Isle Jumper on: May 08, 2004 03:37:32 PM
volupta, that is fantastic! what a beautiful design and fit.  usually, i'm with emling--fair isle is gorgeous but not something i'd actually, you know, wear... but your sweater looks classy and cute. great job!
13  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Re:embroidered robot on t-shirt on: May 02, 2004 05:58:56 PM
SarahFroggy, I did the same thing! I took the Sublime Stitching robot and put it on a fuchsia t-shirt. Sadly, I don't have a picture yet, but I had to post--I'm wearing it right now!

Your robots look fantastic, both of you!

15  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re:Need a cat-eared hat pattern on: April 22, 2004 11:01:32 AM
well, the author of the SNB pattern also has a baby devil hat pattern that you could modify:

i know you said you were hoping for a different style, but the ears aren't sewn in on this; they're picked up and knitted from the body of the hat.

good luck finding a great pattern!
16  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re:pattern / problem finishing Adriafil sweater on: April 20, 2004 08:10:04 PM
sexy sweater! i like your finished product better than the one in the pattern photo.
17  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Re:I finished my BPT sweater! on: April 17, 2004 09:51:37 AM
looks fantastic! i'm seeing the pattern in a new light.

how many skeins of lamb's pride did it take you?
18  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re:Necktie Skirt!! (Pics + Tutorial) on: April 12, 2004 07:03:04 PM

if i wasn't cursed to destroy every sewing machine i touch, i would be running off to make it right now. fantastic job, and terrific tutorial--the arrows and text on the pictures are especially helpful,
19  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re:SPRING KNITTY IS ALIVE!!! on: April 03, 2004 09:55:54 AM
i think bad penny is fantastic. LOVE it--the cutest "i would actually wear it" pattern they've had on knitty in some time.

that said, anyone know what might be an appropriate substitute yarn? i'm trying to figure out from the gauge if it's worsted or what, but i'm a dummy at those types of calculations.

oh, and i forgot to add: only block natural fibers! it won't work on synthetics, and, what's more, they could melt!

this is an excellent guide:
