1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / New and hopeless, Share your experience on: January 06, 2010 02:00:00 PM
Hello there! I'm pretty new to posting here on craftster. However, I would really like to get more involved and show you all the creativity and crafty-ness I have to offer.

Anywho, I just wanted to post and ask you all for suggestions to help promote my stuff to sell online. I am thinking of opening an etsy account. However, I thought it might help my chances to get a little more known over the web before I jump into anything. What suggestions, experience, etc do you all have with promoting your crafts for sell?

I am relaly not sure if I'm even posting to the right board, so I'd appreciate anyone putting me in the right direction. Sorry to be so hopeless. Thanks :]

2  COOKING / Dessert / Heart-Shaped Tie-Dye cake (And my first post) on: January 06, 2010 12:46:27 PM
Let me start off with saying hello! My name is Teri. This is my first post ever. I've been following (silently) forums on craftster for years, hoping one day to muster up some courage and post something. Finally I'm doing so!

I guess I'll start by sharing this cake I decorated myself for my birthday. I thought the tie-dye idea was pretty cool so I thought I'd share the result of it. I am pretty new at cake decorating so if anyone has some good tips for me that would be great! I'm definitely wanting to get better at it.

I made my cake with a devil's food Betty Crocker cake mix (yeah those are the bomb), and made the decoration frosting.

Also I have a cool useful tip for any cake decorators out there who are sick of the mess and clean up of their frosting bags. Instead of transferring frosting from the mixing bowl straight to the bag, scoop it out onto a piece of plastic wrap and wrap the frosting up into a pouch. you and cut a hole in the plastic and put that into the frosting bags. Its amazing!

Thanks for looking Cheesy

3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects / My first post ever.. Something to eat my cereal out of on: June 16, 2006 07:27:38 AM
I was sitting in Ceramics class, trying to think of what I should make. Then, all of the sudden, I thought about how I eat so much cereal. At the time, since school was in and I didn't have very much time, I ate cereal just about every day. Thinking about cereal, I thought about how cool it would be to eat cereal out of a really cool bowl.. and I came up with this! Yeah, I'm not the most talented at ceramics, the glazing kind sucks, but whatever. I'm really proud of my bowl, and I really do eat cereal out of it!
