1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Superhero Alphabet Sampler (My Sistine Chapel) on: February 07, 2016 09:38:53 AM
That is fantastic! It's fun for me looking at the letters and figuring out who is who. (Is O for Oracle?)
2  COOKING / Dessert / Re: 7 Minute Chocolate Cake In A Mug! (Tutorial) on: November 08, 2015 07:08:31 AM
I finally got around to making this last night, and only realized after melting the chocolate and butter that we had no eggs in the house. *facepalm* I subbed in half a very ripe banana and approx. 2 tbsp of milk, and left out the sugar. It came out great!

It took a while longer to cook, about 2:20, which I think was entirely due to the ingredient change. It also did not rise almost at all - I'm not sure how much of that was because of not having the egg, and how much was using the short and stout mug. All in all though, it was totally delicious!
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Black & Purple Dragon Pixie on: November 08, 2015 06:57:43 AM
My challenge for myself this year was to assemble a costume without buying anything new. I have a LOT of costume stuff that I've owned for years but never used, so this was their time to shine.

I decided to be a dragon pixie, all in purple and black. The costume consisted of:
-Store-bought wings
-Horns I made for this costume
-Black and purple rhinestoned fake eyelashes
-A satiny purple night dress
-A black lace bodice
-Knee-high black boots
-Black crocheted lace fingerless gloves, made by my sister for my wedding!

A better view of the wings:

Close up on the horns, made from black and purple polymer black, and black elastic cord:

Also, my glovettes.

Thanks for looking!

I bought some supplies yesterday. I got a little shadow box for it, and pieces for peg people.

I'm so excited to get started!

9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: It fell off the roof...what was I SUPPOSED TA do with it? on: October 21, 2015 07:18:06 AM
My goodness, you had to go through a lot to get this done... I nearly cried at the part where the slate 'sloughed off' a layer. Cry It looks really gorgeous now, though! The green is so pretty. I am glad your daughter liked it.
10  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Re: Stick a Needle in My Eye on: October 21, 2015 07:08:33 AM
A brilliant idea for a pincushion - only I think I'd find it hard to push pins into an eye  Undecided

I was thinking the same thing. It is really well done, artsycandice! The veins in the back actually kind of freak me out, haha.
