21  Edward Cullen Puppet Pal...*dazzle dazzle* in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by ofenjen on: May 21, 2008 01:16:45 PM
I made this for silverfisch for the Twilight Swap Round 2 (gallery).  It's Edward Cullen, from Stephenie Meyers' Twilight, inspired by The Potter Puppet Pals.

He's made out of felt, with fabric paint details on his face.  I really just eyeballed the whole pattern, figuring it out as I went along.  I hope you like him!

I made the button on my buttonmaker, with a little help from some poly glitter!

23  Twilight Tye Died Wax Resist Tee in Dyeing: Completed Projects by ofenjen on: April 30, 2008 12:29:56 PM
I love Stephenie Meyers' Twilight series, so, for my birthday (which was Monday Wink ), my sister created this spectacular tee for me!

The apple and "Twilight" were hand painted with a resist medium and then dyed.  I'm not familiar with the technique myself, but I believe she said she dyed the apple first and then tie dyed the rest of the shirt.

24  Re: A Jar of Mini Whimsies Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by ofenjen on: April 16, 2008 04:45:20 PM
I have received!  I'm so very, very excited to share what nosusanfx collected and made for me.  I seriously contemplated not emptying the jar because it was packed so nicely, but in the end I couldn't resist.  I did manage to get everything back in, though the magnets will be going on my fridge tonight!

I'm a big fan girl in a variety of fandoms, and she covered a bunch of them.  I have a feeling the Pokemon stuff will be stolen by my kids if I give them the chance...the rest is allllll mine!  Cheesy

jarred goodness!

Look, mom, Frodo...and Batman!

Lord of the Rings, Pez & Batman, oh my!  The handcrafted goodies are so fun.  I love it all nosusanfx, thank you so, so much.  *bounces*

For the record, I think this is more exclamation points than I have ever used in a single post.  I really am that excited!

Edited to say I just found the cute card in the bottom of the box.  Thanks again.  Cheesy

25  Needle Threader Earrings in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ofenjen on: April 13, 2008 08:30:20 PM
I saw this super easy tutorial for Needle Threader Earrings and just had to make a pair...or six!  They're sooo easy.  It literally took about ten minutes to make all six pair.

I kept one and gave the rest to my local quilting friends.  The earrings are very lightweight and kind of jingly to wear.

They're carded on handmade paper.  I hope you like them!

27  Inspired by: New Solution To Ripped Jeans in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by ofenjen on: March 22, 2008 11:54:57 AM
Reconned jeans, inspired by this post.

My aunt knows I like to recon and recycle clothes, so she gave me 13 pairs of old blue jeans.  Most of them were Wranglers.  A cowgirl I am not, and neither is my 13 year old daughter, shown in the pic.  We had already made a several bags from the jeans when I stumbled across the pics from tazo_tea's post.

In addition to changing out the back panel, I removed the waistband and cut about an inch off of the top so they wouldn't be so long waisted.  I took the belt loops off before putting the waistband back on.  Unfortunately, you can't see that in the pic because my DD's tee is over the waist.

28  Re: Turtle Swap- Round 2 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by ofenjen on: March 20, 2008 09:58:42 AM
Yay!!!  I'm so happy you like everything!  And so glad I could make the wait worth it.  Smiley

Oh, I made the box (*blush*  i was not happy with the inside).  My neice made the matching turtle tins Smiley

And yes, he was made with recycles sweaters.  Thinsg I forget to put in the note LOL  I was looking through your posts, and you seemed to be cool with recons, and I had these felted sweater bits I needed to do something with.  His shell is made from the shoulder of a sweater - I thought it worked perfectly for a shell Smiley  I also discovered that my sewing machine, or at least the medium weight needles I had, cannot handle 4 layers of felted sweater.  I broke 3 needles before I gave up and hand sewed the last two legs on.  I really like the guy.  I think I may make another with the other shoulder for my nephew Smiley

I just reread and realized I switched the note on box and the tins.  It's all fixed now!  My brain does flip things some times.  It's worse when it comes out of my mouth.  My hubby says he "speaks Jennifer" because sometimes I don't make any sense at all!

I am a huge fan of recons.  It's probably my favorite craft to do myself, second only to quilting.  Silly sewing machine not liking all that sweater.  You did a beautiful job, I do love him.

Oh!  I just looked at how you are holding the turtle mobile.  The upside down loop is supposed to fit into the hanging loop, and then, from the top down its upside down loop, clip, spinner, clip, righside up loop.  If that made sense.  I'm still working with ideas on how to make these work better, but you can only work the copper so much before it gets too chewed up and ugly

I'll go get it now and see if I can figure it out.  It was a little tangled when I took it out of the box and I wasn't sure which way was up.

Got it!

rubytue is my HERO.  Thank you so much for being my angel times two!  You made the long wait worth it.

The turtley goodness abounds!  Clicky for bigger pictures.

My entire turtle haul, sans socks (which are on my feet!)

Turtley socks!  They fit perfect.  We have painted concrete floors, so I wear socks all the time.  Love them!

Turtle plushy who looks to be made from recycled sweaters.  He's big and squishy and I love him.  I must think of a good name. Smiley

Dangley copper turtle do-dad.  I wish you could see my house rubytrue,
I love dangley spinners and have one in almost every room.  Having turtles makes it even better!
Thanks for the extra baby one, I'll hang it in my garden.

Wee turtle treasure containers made by rubytrue's niece So sweet!

Turtle Nightlight

Sweet turtle box.  I'm a container girl and this is going right in with my collection of wood boxes.

Sparkley turtle embellished zipper pouch, a turtle puzzle, another coppery dangle and the sweet card from rubytrue.
