3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / attempting to sew wedding dress - when pregnant... on: April 20, 2017 06:21:41 PM
So i've decided to sew my own wedding dress. I am currently 16 weeks pregnant, and will be 25 weeks pregnant at the time of my wedding.
I bought this pattern today : https://mccallpattern.mccall.com/m7090
I like the sweetheart bodice, without the lace overlays on them, and more of an empire waist.
I'm nervous to make it exactly like the pattern with it having a gathered waistband like that and a zipper....

Any ideas/thoughts on making it so it will still fit me in a couple of months??

There are a lot of daddy long leg spiders down there too :/ I heard peppermint oil and water spray works good?

Anyways...
He has a TV, a small coffee table, and the mini fridge already.

I was thinking about a recliner, a sound bar for his tv and covering the walls some how with fabric?

Any ideas!?? Links, anything would be awesome!!
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / wedding anniversary gift for sister--Help! on: March 22, 2013 03:03:40 PM
So my sister is coming up on her one year wedding anniversary pretty soon...
At her wedding last year i was able to snag these two paper signs they had up at the hotel where they were married.
They are just regular paper and has both of their names on it. Its 17" wide and 11" tall.

She doesn't know I got them from the hotel--and I've been meaning to make something with them, but I have no idea what!!
Thinking of framing it, but wanting something more? Didn't want to make it too girly, so her husband would like it Smiley

ANY ideas would be great!! Thanks guys!

7  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / New card table top help! on: January 06, 2013 11:49:35 AM
So I have an old beat up card table in my craft room that I want to put a new cover on. It is just a cheap one and I'm unable to get the top off- it doesn't have normal screws in it...Sad

I was wondering about just decoupageing the top instead? It's vinyl on top with some small tears and holes. Would this work? Any other ideas??

9  COOKING / Dessert / toy story cake help! on: August 24, 2011 05:07:09 PM
OK so I'm going to be making my friend a cake for her kids birthday. She gave me a picture of what she's looking for..

only she doesn't want fondant frosting...

which is good because i've worked with fondant ONCE, and i'm not very good at it...

SO... any tips on how to go about this using just plain frosting.?? Any advice, links, ANYTHING would be great!!!
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / decorating ideas for apartment with drop ceilings! on: June 17, 2011 03:05:02 PM
So I really want to decorate my apartment a bit more. I was thinking about hanging stuff from the ceiling because its a drop style, and i can easily push up the tiles to hang stuff from them.  I have no idea what though! I was thinking some kind of lantern type things?  I made some fabric garland that you can see, but they just hang on the walls. I was thinking of making longer ones and draping them across the room a bunch of different ways?

I'm not sure, and i'm looking for more ideas!
