1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Two-way CD swap? on: May 15, 2007 08:56:18 PM
Oh my god, I have been away for far too long. Here I was thinking I already knew the rules -_-* That kinda sucks, but no one wants to get in trouble, so...

2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Two-way CD swap? on: May 15, 2007 12:43:42 PM
I know CD swaps have been done on here before, so I don't know if people would be interested in doing another one, but I am totally jonesing for some new musix and craftsters seem to have pretty good/wacky taste, so:

I propose doing a two-way swap. This would involve making a CD of YOUR favourite music, crafty-ing up the CD and the case, and sending it to your partner. They do the same for you. Once you receive your partner's CD, you listen to it and try to put together a CD of music that you think they'll like. This way, you get two cool CDs of new music! Cheesy

What do you guys think?

UUUHHHHHHHH oh my GOSH! That is SO GORGEOUS! I don't even... the dress before was amazing, I can see why you fell in love with it, but your alteration is even better. Kudos to your mom--mom's always come through and save our asses, eh?

Hey, not to be a square here, but I think the link to kmye-chan's deviantart should be in the first post here. It's not really cool to remove the watermark on a commercial artist's picture, when she clearly states it several times on her site that her pics are not to be posted without her permission. Maybe I'm wrong and you HAVE her permission (full apologies if that be the case) but when you do have permission, you would usually post "posted with permission by kyme-chan at www.whatever.com". Again, not to rag on you, but I have a cousin who is an artist and this kind of thing drives her crazy. Just a thought.
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Firefly/Serenity Round 3 Gallery! on: July 09, 2006 02:50:48 PM
Yesterday I received an AMAZING package from Rain!!! I got a wicked haul from my awesome partner. I don't have the wherewithal to show you guys any pictures, but I got: a cute mod Altoid tin with Mal pics, some foxy Mal fridge magnets, an ink brush set (we think haha), a sexy Mal frame, a really nice bracelet with Chinese-style beads, and a Captain's log journal with Mal quotes written inside. I also got--as the piece de resistance--a FANTASTIC "Captain Tight Pants" t-shirt, which fits like a dream and is officially the coolest t-shirt I own, and coincidentally, I too am wearing it to see Pirates of the Carribbean 2 tonight (I swear it was planned before I read that post! I SWEAR!). I think I'm gonna have to steal a digital cam just so you guys can see it. Rain thank you SO MUCH! And thanks again, Shylittlegoddess, for organizing such a wicked swap.
6  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: What to do with a hideous old suitcase? on: July 01, 2006 08:37:15 AM
Why are parents always blind to the potential of household junk? What a sorry state of things.

I'm not quite sure what you could do with it--maybe take some pics of what you have to work with and we'll go from there?
7  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Discussion and Questions / Re: What is the best brand for iron on transfers? on: June 29, 2006 02:51:48 PM
I really think that the results of your transfer depend more on your method than on the quality (or price) of your paper. I've only ever used cheap paper (20$ for 50 or 75 sheets) and all of mine have come out quite well.

I just mailed my package to Rain earlier tonight so she should be getting it by the end of the week! I'm LOVING all this stuff, you guys rock. Apparently, combining craftiness with browncoat-osity is the secret alchemical recipe for pure gold.
9  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: *lmao* the strangest mittens I've ever seen :) on: June 10, 2006 08:22:38 PM
I'm so sorry but I am on the floor about those, that's so tragically hilarious!! Definitely keep them! They fall perfectly into the trying-so-hard-that-theyre-awesome category.

Although I shouldn't be laughing as about 90% of the things I create fall into that category as well.

10  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: 30 minute dress to eat barbecued chicken in on: June 08, 2006 07:16:42 PM
Aaaah i LOVE it!! Paper towel is such a versatile yet underrated medium. Good on you for making a rocking dress so your friend could end the school year in style!  Wink I went to a uniform school, so whenever we thought we could get away with it we tried making our own garbage-bag and masking-tape versions. It really only worked with new teachers because they found it novel. It was, however, entirely inconvenient as garbage bags are quite slippery...

And I also LOVE the clutch. Way to go the extra mile!
