21  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / winter coat on: November 20, 2007 06:20:23 PM
I made this coat for my niece for her birthday. i think it's probably the most advanced thin i've done so far. i had to hand sew all around the inside because there is no lining. i don't hand sew. it took forever! i wish i had more pictures of it.

22  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / finishing a slipstitch on: October 26, 2007 11:41:48 AM
how do i finish off when hand sewing? i've heard that to do a few backstitches is the bst way to do this, but what about when i'm slipstitching? obviously i don't want the stitches to show. is there another way?? thanks!
23  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / matching christmas outfits on: September 24, 2007 09:51:22 PM
my sister in law has asked me to make some matching outfits for her almost 3 year old girl and baby boy (currently about 2 months) for christmas pictures. i know there are an abundance of cute girl patterns, but any ideas on what i can make for him? obviously it needs to be for colder weather, so no just onesies or anything. please help, i want it to be adorable! what do you even make for baby boys?
24  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / jean problems on: September 14, 2007 12:10:03 PM
i looked around for help before posting this, but i think i have sort of unique problem. i have a pair of jeans that i love, but they no longer fit. the problem is they fit perfectly everywhere except the actual waistband. is there anyway i can lengthen just the waistband? they are your typical jean button-band but they pants are already low enough that i cannot just remove the band. any ideas? thanks for any advice!
25  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / our wedding cake with homemade topper on: September 13, 2007 06:57:14 AM
my bridesmaid and i made all the decoration for my cake out of cookies. you can see those here:

they were sugar cookies with a little black dye and some yummy kind of icing. my sister's friend made the cake so she gave us the recipes.

wish i had a picture on here of just the cake, but i do not. anyway, here is the cake:

i got the idea from this picture in a wedding magazine like 2 years before i even got married.  Grin

27  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Discussion and Questions / sizing for kids not your own on: August 13, 2007 05:10:53 PM
my niece is the beauty that i love to make clothes for, but she lives 600 miles away. how can i make her stuff without asking her mom to measure her everytime? i know all kids are different, but is there a generic sizing chart somewhere? i would love to be able to look online or something and find some general measurements based on age...if those don't exist, does anyone have any tips?? thanks!

30  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / advice on prints for sale on: March 27, 2007 11:35:46 AM
i was hoping to get some advice on selling prints. i see some people doing it and wonder if i might could. how do you know what people will buy? and how do you determine what size to sel? i personally would most likely buy very pretty 8x10s. also, could i please get some advice on whether or not these prints might sell? http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v480/msalowishus/etsy/?action=view&current=kristinas448c.jpg&slideshow=true&interval=3

photobucket dims down the quality a little and i have added my name across them for safety. thanks for input!
