1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Peter Pan collar tute? on: September 19, 2011 05:46:46 PM
I've searched the internets and haven't been able to find a simple enough tute.  This is what I want it to look like:

Could someone point me in the right direction, please?

Very VERY cute!  I'm gonna have to find a big ugly sweater to convert!

I considered bias tape, but I don't have much experience with it (even though I own 2 bias tape makers, lol).  A peter pan collar would probably be really cute!  I will have to look for a tute on how to make/attach one.  Thanks!  Please keep the ideas coming.
5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Input-Finishing Touches On a Dress on: August 23, 2011 04:41:48 PM
I made this dress.  I think it's my first time making clothes.  I'm just looking for ideas on how to finish the edges.  I know I could always just hem the edges, but I want something that looks a little different. I can't really afford to lose much length at the bottom.  I'm not exactly sure what I wanted the sleeves to look like, but I think they're OK as is.  I'm open to any ideas you guys throw my way.  Also, I forgot I wanted to add pockets.  It's just basted right now, so I can always take it apart.  I'm in the process of looking for a tute on how to add pockets to the inside, not like just sewing them on the outside.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

Here's a kind of close up of the edges.  The material is a thin flannel I guess.

My bedroom is a mess.  My mirror is dirty.

This is SO fantastic!  I have yards and yards of glitter vinyl.  I wish I were brave enough to attempt something like this.  You did an awesome job!

That would make an awesome shirt!  I might just have to do that!
