31  Re: Little Visitor Swap #6!!! Sign-ups Feb 15-March 9, Send outs March 16 & May in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by TreeTree on: February 23, 2007 01:19:49 PM
Ellie, I think the person who takes the pics needs to develop the film for the scrapbook, otherwise they would have to take double the pictures.

Oh, I just took a family shot of all of Leon's stuffy brothers and sisters:

None of the Eeyore's are very happy they didn't get picked. Tubby over on the right is being totally obstinate but I told him shipping would cost too much.  My model twiggy in the back won't listen to reason, she refuses to believe she isn't a plushie.  Alf is only interested going to a house with cats so once I told him that was out of the question he didn't care.  Mindy, bananas and scabbers are more or less happy where they are but will miss Leon.  Okay, I'm a freak.

I need the long sign up as well.  I'm currently in two swaps and I'm getting ready for a huge state test (i'm trying to be a court reporter, need to past the speed tests...225 wpm is the toughest one).  That's the first week of March.  So by the second week or March my life should be a bit calmer.  Also I need to consult my boyfriend before I send  Leon away, he's very special.  He found Leon the sea otter at a aquarium's gift shop.  He's perfect size to travel in a purse...here's a pic I just took:

33  Re: Design Your Own Bag--along! in Knitalongs by TreeTree on: February 09, 2007 07:51:53 AM
I've been a bit of a lurker on this thread, but I wanted to post my progress on my bag... I used a cable called "bubbles" from vogue stitchionary and it's come out rather small.  However I really need a cosmetics bag...that would count for this knit along wouldn't it? I mean it's still a bag.  Anyway what do you think?  Here's a pic with makeup for size reference:

34  Wine Cozy from Knitty in Knitting: Completed Projects by TreeTree on: February 05, 2007 04:22:37 PM
I went to a suprise party for the 50th birthday of a co-worker and she loves wine...she also has been watching me knit and i could kind of tell...that she just didn't want to say anything but really wanted me to make her something, lol.  When she opened it, she was like "I was hoping you'd make me something eventually!  I'm always seeing you knit stuff!"  So cute.  Oh and she's a huge wine drinker so this just was the perfect project

The red base is lionbrand woolease in cranberry, the leaves are also woolease...some green color, can't remember and the purple is paton's wool.

Oh, if anyone wants the pattern it's right here: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter04/PATTwinecozy.html

I did a personal swap with CharlieBrown and after stalking her a bit (and knitting ALOT) I came up with this:

She received yesterday and loves it!

36  Re: Ephemera AND ATC swap round 1-Gallery in The Swap Gallery by TreeTree on: January 20, 2007 02:04:56 PM
I got my second atc from sewknitter! Here it is:

The photo she used is an interior shot (that I wasn't technically allowed to take...there was a big sign..no pictures..woopsy) of Keylmore Abbey in Ireland.  The architectural bit in the lefthand corner is from a card I received from my college that had drawing of the architecture of Rosary Hall...the school library.  The fortune says "Search your own heart with all diligence for out of it flow the issues of life" and the card is aptly titled "Search your heart"

She also sent me MORE ephemera:

37  Re: Personal/Private Swap Gallery - January 2007, Happy New Year! in The Swap Gallery by TreeTree on: January 12, 2007 09:06:10 PM
CharlieBrown and I decided to have a personal pillow swap...mainly because we were both impatient for the actual pillow swap to get started, lol.  Anyway I received from her today and I will hopefully be sending a pillow to her on tuesday.

Here's my beautiful peacock pillow from a talented quilter:

Wow, there's so much awesome ephemera here...and now I understand how broad that term is, lol.  Thanks everyone that commented on my butterfly atc, it was my first card ever, so the positive comments mean a lot to me...guess I'll be doing more atc swaps.

Ok, here is what Sewknitter sent me...got awhile?

First up the wonderful "antiquities" card:

Here's a grouping of my favs:

And now for links to more images:
Middle Eastern/Asian type artwork.

Bright and cheerful confetti.

More bright and cheerful ephemera, assorted clippings and scraps of things.

Some cards....look one of the cards has babies, lol.

Stamps, Egyptian clippings and Japanese origami type paper.

Jewel tone catalog clippings and some more cards.

Hmmm, wonder if Cara likes the Olive Garden?  Oh and I hope there were a lot of people at the table having coffee, cause that's an awful lot of empty sugar packets.

39  Re: New Knitty's Calorimetry in Knitalongs by TreeTree on: December 31, 2006 10:35:30 AM
Thought I'd post the two I've done...though there's plenty of beautiful Calorimetries to look at on this thread...here's two more, lol.

The first one is modeled by my sis and is Simply Soft Shadows held two strands together.   The second is done in Modea Dea's Cache in tootsie, with a clay button I made.

40  USB drive turned into sushi in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by TreeTree on: December 29, 2006 06:06:31 PM
I used three colors of sculpey to make this: Just orange, transclucent and pure white.  It's coated with sculpey glaze and the usb drive is secured with hot glue.

Quick footnote.  I got the idea from sushi drives I saw online that were going for $99, I made mine for about $24, including price of drive...excluding price of white sculpey which I already had.
