Lufah, that rug is just gorgeous.  I've never though of blue and tan going well together, but they look amazing together.

colourandy - Here's a tutorial on weaving with cardboard. http://www.allfiberarts.com/library/aa01/aa040201.htm There are a lot more, too, just try googling "cardboard weaving".  Good luck!

It looks fantastic!  I love the look of the fabric scraps in it.  Very cool.

Plus, Toby totally rocks this scarf.  Grin  Maybe I'll start modeling my FOs on pets... thinking my pug Elli would stay still the longest.

I need to get going!  I'll probably finish sometime this weekend and ship Monday.

Thanks, that article was really helpful.  I'll have to try that on my next project.

As I was unwinding the scarf, I was all "Wow, I've gotten better!" but then, "Look how much thinner the beginning is..."  I think I'll be able to look that over, though (I'm a little bit OCD  Grin ).

Really, I'm just so excited that I've started a new hobby.

Knitting led to spinning and I realized it would soon lead to weaving.  And it did!  I just bought a 24" Beka Rigid Heddle Loom that came in the mail Tuesday.  After struggling with the vague instructions with weird/unintelligible illustrations, I finally figured it out.  It would be much easier to have a person teach me, but my aunt (a weaver) lives two states away, so no go.

"I Want Candy" Scarf, made with yarn dyed by marion on Etsy and spun by me.
Rolled up:

The two ends.  See how I got better by the end? (the left side was where I started):

A shot of the whole scarf.  It is only 50" long or so:

Thanks for looking!  I'm going to weave up the other skein into a longer scarf.  Any tips on warping without a warping board?  I used two kitchen chairs for this one.

I love it!  The combo of lime green and that grey really works.
What kind of yarn is that?

I just spent time knitting in a school meeting (AP night).  I don't think it's rude, and it really *does* help me pay attention.  Grin

lol, that reminds me of spumoni!

Just what I was going to say!  I love spumoni (ice cream, my favorite) so much and have tried a few times to get yarn like it.  This really works!

Maybe make a wrist cuff out of it?  Using really big needles, of course.

I signed up, yay!
Can't wait for the fiber-goodness.  Grin

You haven't taken over the living room until you start moving in the angora rabbit cages.

Believe me, I've tried!  My brother has a bunny allergy (yes, allergic to the cutest, fluffiest animals ever), so no angoras [yet].   Grin
