21  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Covering a photo frame using the napkin technique? on: December 10, 2006 06:14:51 AM
Hi everybody

For christmas I'm going to cover lots of photo frames using the napkin technique (sp).
I'm just wondering what would be the best way to do this. I have a spray can of glue that also glues on glossy so it gives it a finished look  Wink

Should I measure out the picture frame on the napkin and cut it out then cut a gap out for the picture bit and then glue it or what?  Undecided

Anyway thanks everybody for looking.

24  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Need ideas for my dad, my sister and one of my friends! on: December 03, 2006 10:24:57 AM

I need ideas for what to give people for christmas!

My dad- He's a journalist, loves cricket, beer (he's no alcoholic though Roll Eyes ) , running... And european politics. He's got a good sense of humour too!

My sister- she's 16, and she her style is kind of classic indie (ish). She likes shopping, clothes and clothes, and I'm really at a loss for what to make her!

And one of my friends- She is addicted to fruits basket (Japanese cartoon), little trinkets, cute quotes...

If any of you could help me that would be great!
I can knit (but not very well- I can't do cables and things like that) and sew (clothes and bags as well as embroidery). I can also do other crafts like scrapbooking, ATC's ect.

Thanks again.

Maybe you could fill it to the top with red and green beads  Undecided or tissue paper? Im useless haha but i just wanted to say that that ornament is really cool!!!
26  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Re: Vintage or Retro party? on: November 13, 2006 10:29:58 AM

Well for me Retro is more 60s-70s as in bright colours and stuff like that...
But for invitations you could just go classic with a square of cardboard, cover it in black paper, then cut a smaller peice of white paper, stick it on and write all the details on it. Then add a few silver sequins?

Sorry im useless but it sounds like a great party, have fun!

I would love to make this but I am REALLY bad at drawing... I just tried drawing a pattern for it and it turned out so bad. Is there any way someone could post a pattern?
Anyway, I think it's so cute Smiley It would look great as a christmas tree decoration (if it was made smaller Wink )
