1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / I need invitation-cardstock recommendations!! on: July 12, 2008 05:15:16 PM
so we have finally arrived at the point of getting our invites done! YEA!  Although....I didn't think it was going to be such an issue!

We really are looking for heavy cardstock, maybe 250 ct. if possible, or 100 ct. x2, of pink.  Not pastel, but a deep hot pink....  Sad I didn't think that paper would be so difficult to find online/in stores so I was wondering if anyone has a recommendation?!  (It stinks, I'm starting to feel the crazy getting ready for a wedding event stress.. just venting a bit too, b/c I know you all go through it too, and it totally makes me feel better getting this off my chest in a way Smiley )

We are on a budget and idealy would like to not spend more than $50 for the paper.
2  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Wedding hairstyle (many pictures) on: February 04, 2008 09:50:54 PM
Yea!  I'm so excited that we are able to learn things online!!

I was able to learn how to do that 'poof' thing properly by watching a few DIY youtube videos and I think on my wedding day I'd much rather do my own hair (it was sooo easy- no stress).
I have to keep practicing it to perfect it, but you'll get the idea with the pictures.

The band that's in my hair is my sister's from a renaissance festival, the real tiara is from one of my bridesmaids, she letting me borrow hers (and her veil, and so many other things left over from her wedding!!)  Let me know what you think, or if any of you have a suggestion!

I really want the ends curly- most likely soft big curls

As for my makeup, I think I want something that'll stand out on camera, but still looks "fresh" and classy.  Which I discoverd that I can't use bronzer w/o being 'shiny' in pictures.

These are a few shots of the eyes, if anyone has suggestions on what they did for their make up let me know! Smiley

(BTW_ talk about up close and personal!!  Hope you guys are good with close ups! lol)

This picture has nothing to do with the topic- but I thought it was cool because I stuck my finger on the flash and it turned me red!  hehe!
3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Bridesmaid dress question on: February 01, 2008 12:38:27 PM
I'm trying to find a picture that I remember someone on here.
The colors were like pink and orange colors (or something), and the bridesmaids all had different hues of the wedding colors.  Does anyone remember who that was, or if it is whoever is reading this post, can you help me find that topic again?

And, if anyone else did the different dresses/hues for the girls, can I see some pictures?  Some of my girls can't picture it coming out nice and I want them to be rest assured! Smiley
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Looking for food advice for the DIYers! on: January 28, 2008 08:25:00 PM
I was just wondering for you ladies (and I guess the men on the site too), who of you bought your own food for your ceremony, and who did a buffet with it?

I'm trying to come up with a rough budget for food, and I assumed $1,000 for 150 people?  I don't know if that is realistic or not, and I realize many of us are in a different areas so the $ will range, but again, I'd like to know the ideal cost. Smiley
Also, this will be for a lunch menu so not to expensive.

BTW, if you have menu ideas, let me know what you guys did and what you found your guests loved the most!

Thank you Smiley
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Website that coordinates colors, really cool on: November 25, 2007 02:49:44 PM
 Smiley Hello,
I stumbled upon a website that if you upload a picture onto their site it'll give a palette of all the colors that in the picture-at lease the good ones.

So, for anyone who's needing help with figuring out with what colors should be coordinated into your wedding, hope this helps! Just hopefully you already have an idea so you can upload some type a picture and the site will do the rest.  Smiley

Here's the site

I wanted to show an example of one I did, but I'm not sure how to upload a picture, or if I have enough posts to do so w/o posting a link.  But mine was a flower picture and I got 15 colors on my palette
