1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: charcoal drawing of a photograph of my mother and grandmother. on: October 23, 2009 11:44:24 PM
This is amazing. I've had a similar experience with my own grandmother. She died right after my parents were married from a brain tumor she kept secret from her family until the end. A couple of years ago, in my HS art class, I drew a portrait of the three of us by combining pictures of us. My mom says I'm a lot like her, as well; my grandmother's sewing skills skipped a generation and now I'm going to school for costume/apparel design.

Again, awesome work.

That is a beautiful dress! It really does fit you well! Did you have to do many fittings to get it right? I like the fabric too!

I hope you don't mind... When I saw your post a few days ago, I got inspired to make my own Dark Mark applique for an old grey American Apparel sweater.

Here's mine (Sorry, I've just started using flickr and I haven't quite learned how to post photos to Craftster... :/):

It was a great stash buster!

The blanket is awesome. I'm bummed I was never able to figure out crochet. Never made sense to me. Sad
