Hey, Guys!
Now I am in Lincoln Heights, that LACC class sounds perfect! The Torrance Adult School class turned out to be a bust. It is great if you already know what you are doing, but I didn't really come away with anything! I took a course at El Camino that was great, very structured (we had specific assignments) and pretty intense. I got burned out and dropped the second semester. I just had so much going on at the time.

Thanks for the input, Mikan! Someone also directed me here:

I may try it out before investing in a kiln. It's near me and not too expensive to fire.

I love glazing! Especially underglazing. The whole process of making ceramics is so soothing to me.

It would be great if you could make actual slip covers for TVs, how cute would that be!

I was just researching kilns online. I've taken tons of ceramics classes over the years. I never orked directly with a kiln though. I was thinking of buying  small one. Do you guys know of a good resource for finding info. on kilns?
I think I want  a low maintenance fairly inexpensive one where I could fire pieces approx. 6"x6" or smaller. Do they even exist?

I have been debating one as well. My brother has one and says it works well on paper, he hasn't gotten good results on fabric. But I don't think he has the special fabric stamp attachment. I also saw them in a jewelry supply catalog (with a different name, but I'm sure it's exactly the same thing), if you use different chemicals, it can be used for transferring an image onto metal, as a resist for etching or as a guide for cutting.
