11  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Re: My First Foray into Yarn Dyeing!! Successful!!!! on: June 30, 2009 11:36:43 AM
I think this is really nifty!  Do you buy regular yarn from the store and just dye it yourself?  How long do you leave it in the dye bath?

I really really love the colors in the first photos!  It definitely looks like rainbow sherbet!  I think it'd be awesome to dye some some soft yarns something OTHER than pastel colors for a baby's blanket!...
12  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Uncle Wiggly Pillow on: June 30, 2009 05:47:18 AM
I love this pillow!!  Very nostalgic for me, too!  My mom used to have an Uncle Wiggly board game, so when I was young, she got me a new one.  Such a goofy game and up until now, I completely forgot about it!!!  I can't wait to show her this!
13  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Quilt for mum - help!!!! on: June 30, 2009 05:44:42 AM
I think they both look great, however, is it possible that the problem you're having with the 2nd one is that it's not quite as varied as the first?  I think there's a more solid contrast in hues in the pink and purple bits in the 1st one, whereas in the 2nd one the both the darker hues kind of blend together for me?

To be honest, though, I think they both look fantastic!!...and for some reason, the 2nd one reminds me more of a firework!

Very cute!  I love anything with trees on it!
15  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Art Class Things :] on: June 25, 2009 01:32:26 PM
I love how you chose to do your own thing for the color wheel.  Awesomely awesome and creative solution to the problem.  Plus...how can you go wrong when your subject is a bag lady??

Good work on the perspective, too.  Even with my ruler I couldn't keep my lines so nice and neat.  Luckily my profs attributed it to my sketchy style  Wink

16  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Re: Fille D'charpe or Scarf Girl! on: June 23, 2009 10:01:28 AM
Honestly, I think I like it without the scarf?  You did such an amazing and dramatic job on the shadows, especially on the right hand side.  I nearly thought that the woman was 3D and that the black portion on the right was raised from the surface and those were just the natural shadows.  Excellent stuff!  And like the person above said, I think it's very androgynous as well...but it adds to it!
17  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Chocolate Tequila Rose Cake on: May 26, 2009 05:23:26 AM
This sounds and looks great!  I bet it was delicious!  I haven't had Tequila Rose in such a long time and never would have thought to use it in a dessert!  Nice job on the presentation, too!

Those look soooo yummy!  Can't believe I haven't had the combination of chocolate and pistachio yet!  How did you make the leaves on those?

19  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Re: Day of the Dead 50's style Waitress, serving up death on a platter on: May 12, 2009 06:12:58 AM
This is awesome!!  I love the combo of Day of the Dead and the 50's!  I'm just seeing sooo many 50's/60's characters with Day of the Dead skulls!  James Dean...50's cheerleader...Marilyn Monroe

Awesome idea!
