1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / I need my mojo back! on: September 23, 2007 02:38:47 PM
Over the past few months, I've gotten married, moved and started a new job. All this has meant not too much time for knitting. I've managed to make a few pairs of plain socks this summer, but now I've started to get into the swing of things and I want to pick up my needles again for something with a bit of a challenge. I'm up for pretty much anything (I've done colourwork, cables, lace and everything in between) but haven't been keeping up with the new patterns and trends of the past few months. Any suggestions?
2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Stranded skull hat and plain ol' mittens on: December 14, 2006 08:32:59 PM

I knit these up for my sister for her birthday this weekend. I cobbled together some leftover yarn, a skull chart and a basic hat/mitten pattern and this lovely set came out at the other end. My blog has a few more details. Thanks for taking a look!
3  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Cable Twist Socks on: December 06, 2006 09:03:57 AM

These babies knit from Hello Yarn's Cable Twist Sock pattern (http://www.helloyarn.com/cabletwistsocks.htm) are a Christmas present for my father-in-law. I'm starting to get sick of knitting for others.  Tongue

4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My So Called Scarves on: December 01, 2006 06:58:46 AM
I knit a couple of My So Called Scarves (http://www.sheepinthecity.prettyposies.com/archives/000079.html) as Christmas presents for my sisters-in-law. I know there must be a thread on this somewhere, but I can't find it. I didn't change anything about the pattern and even used the recommended yarn (an unusual occurrence for me!)

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Forecast! on: November 29, 2006 09:00:14 AM
I didn't do anything differently with my version than the other versions that we've seen here, but I'm so pleased with it that I had to show it off. For those who haven't seen it before, it's Glampyre's Forecast from the Winter 2005 Knitty. I did a three stitch bobble, started the ribbing on the sleeves higher up on the arm, and lengthened the ribbing on the body.

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Laura from Rowan's Big It Up on: October 13, 2006 05:56:47 AM
Hi everyone! This is my second in a series of posts of everything I've finished in the last two months. I finished Laura from Rowan's Big It Up in September:

I misplaced the ball bands so I have no idea what the yarn is. I do know that I ended up knitting a size medium to accommodate the smaller gauge of the yarn - it was knit on 10 mm needles instead of 12. I'm really happy with the resulting fabric. It's sooooooo cosy!  For the full story, check out my blog.
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Fair Isle Mittens (and my return to Craftster) on: October 11, 2006 06:23:26 AM
Hey guys! I've been absent for a couple of months (I was sick of the internet for a while) but I finished a few things while I was gone. Check these babies out:

They're going to be a Christmas present for my mother-in-law-to-be. Details on my blog, of course. Thanks for looking!

Edit: Oops, sorry guys. I guess the Blogger picture thing has changed since the last time I posted. I'll remember that for next time. But the pic is on my blog in case you're interested.

Edit again: I've uploaded the pics to the craftster pic hosting. Now everyone should be able to see the picture. Thanks for the compliments!
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Knit n' Tonic Dream Swatch on: May 25, 2006 06:43:13 PM
Nothing really groundbreaking here, just a super nice scarf/headwrap/belt thing made from the Dream Swatch pattern from the ever wonderful Knit and Tonic. I used a beautiful (and $$$) Fleece Artist 100% silk. It's now packed away in an envelope, ready to become the latest Mother's Day present ever!

9  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Fake Vans silver skully style on: May 10, 2006 03:21:28 PM
As mentioned earlier (https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=92983.0), I hit a bit of a snag with these, but I worked through it and all was well in the end. Hideous beige slip-ons for $13 from Zellers + white and silver fabric paint = comfy cute shoes for summertime. Not the most original things ever, but considering the rough time I had, I'm fairly pleased.

[Plz ignore the prickly legs. Thx. Grin]
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Completed Fad-Classic (from Knit & Tonic)! on: May 05, 2006 12:04:25 PM

I posted this over in the knitalong thread last night, but then I got to thinking that everyone else might want to see it too! My LYS didn't have the recommended yarn, so I ended up knitting the 36" with a little more than 2 hanks of Butterfly Super 10 in Purple (yes, it's actually just called "purple". No fancy colour names for these folks.) I've got a bit of a long torso, so it's more cropped on me than it would be on others without, but I think it would look cute if it came down to hit the top of your pants/skirt/whatever. The construction was a learning experience for me too - knitting things all in one piece is fun! No seaming = happy knitter!
