11  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Stranded skull hat and plain ol' mittens on: December 14, 2006 08:32:59 PM

I knit these up for my sister for her birthday this weekend. I cobbled together some leftover yarn, a skull chart and a basic hat/mitten pattern and this lovely set came out at the other end. My blog has a few more details. Thanks for taking a look!

I just bought a ball of Supersocke yesterday, and now I'm super psyched to knit with it after seeing yours. Very fun!
13  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Cable Twist Socks on: December 06, 2006 09:03:57 AM

These babies knit from Hello Yarn's Cable Twist Sock pattern (http://www.helloyarn.com/cabletwistsocks.htm) are a Christmas present for my father-in-law. I'm starting to get sick of knitting for others.  Tongue

Those are amazing! I especially love the asymmetrical-ness (so not a word) of the fair isle.
15  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My So Called Scarves on: December 01, 2006 06:58:46 AM
I knit a couple of My So Called Scarves (http://www.sheepinthecity.prettyposies.com/archives/000079.html) as Christmas presents for my sisters-in-law. I know there must be a thread on this somewhere, but I can't find it. I didn't change anything about the pattern and even used the recommended yarn (an unusual occurrence for me!)

As someone who's been knitting for over half my life, I vote for Knit fast, die warm because I have never seen it anywhere. Almost all of the other slogans are already available on tshirts through cafepress. Granted, they don't have a skull on them, but a lot of those slogans are getting pretty tired. Fonts like the ones that GG used are a dime a dozen too, if you really want to go that route, but I'd personally prefer a simple, bold font rather than the gothic-y illumination styled GG one.

Word up. It would be something not available anywhere else (at least, not anywhere that I've seen, and I shop A LOT).
17  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Forecast! on: November 29, 2006 09:00:14 AM
I didn't do anything differently with my version than the other versions that we've seen here, but I'm so pleased with it that I had to show it off. For those who haven't seen it before, it's Glampyre's Forecast from the Winter 2005 Knitty. I did a three stitch bobble, started the ribbing on the sleeves higher up on the arm, and lengthened the ribbing on the body.

It looks great! I'm so impressed with the finished items I see from patterns from that book. They're beautiful!

Super sweater! Did you make up the charts yourself? They are quite awesome. Nice work!
