1  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / How long does it take to cut with Cricut? on: May 20, 2010 11:19:27 AM
Hi craftsters!

I'm looking into getting cricut personal machine to make my wedding invitations. I just want to make sure it will be practical! How long does the machine take to cut? I'm thinking about cutting our names out of a cardstock using the machine and would need to make 150+ cards.

Any insight would be very helpful!

Also -- Is the Cricut Personal exactly the same as the expressions only smaller? You can connect it to your computer and create your own designs with the Sure Cuts a Lot software, right?

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Japanese Craft Books - Handles? on: November 09, 2007 02:23:01 PM
Hey guys -

I just got some amazing japanese craft books with purse patterns.  A lot of the purses in the books use these skinny, leathery looking handles that look so lovely - I just don't know where to get anything like them...

The last one has the kind i want the most...I had a hard time finding good pictures, but hopefully someone will know what I'm talking about!

Where can one get skinny, pre-made leather-ish handles!?
Thanks in advance,

Just finished this purse!

What do you think? Shape inspired by a japansese craft book. I'm obsessed with japanesse craft books. You should get some.

7  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / help! on: August 31, 2007 11:46:52 AM
hey guys,

I really want to make my boyfriend a pillow with grateful dead "steal your face."

Do you know a good way to go about designing a pattern for something like this? I remember seeing somewhere a website where you can put the image you want and it turns it into a graph...maybe i dreamed it.

Any help would be fantastic.

What do you think?
Constructive criticism would be wonderful Smiley

9  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / web design on: June 26, 2007 09:50:26 PM
i don't know if this it the right place...but...

i graduated college a year ago, and during this past year i have pretty much just been trying to figure out what i'm going to do with myself for the rest of my life.  just the other day i came across a very appealing program in web design, and i'm seriously thinking about pursuing it.  however, i really don't know anything about web design!

i have a feeling that some of you craftsters are web designers, and i have some questions:
how do you like it? are you able to work from home? what kind of training/education do you have? do you make a decent living?

whatever else you have to say about web design would be great!

thanks Smiley

Hey craftsters!

Here's a couple dresses I made:

#1: Built By Wendy...

my boyfriend tells me i look amish in this

closeup of fabrics

#2: Built by Liddy...First try at shirring! (aka my new love)

shirring is SO fun

not the greatest, but the fabric was cheap and i learned how to do a new thing...so i'm excited even if i don't wear it everyday.

thanks for looking, comments are nice  Cool
