1  U.K. AND IRELAND / ENGLAND / fabric shops in london on: March 01, 2007 04:45:36 AM

i've been trying to find decent fabric for bag making for a while, but my local fabric shop only has flimsy, old lady cotton.
does anyone know of any good fabric shops in london? (pref. central)

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / fluffy hot water bottle cover on: December 03, 2006 11:16:05 AM
i'm attempting to make a cover out of fluffy fur for a heart shaped hot water bottle, and one side needs to have a zip. I made a practice one out of normal fabric, which didnt turn out too well, and was hard enough without fur everywhere (its very fluffy)!
this is the bottle:

and this is my rubbish paint drawing of the cover:

there needs to be a hole to let the plug bit stick out. the black dots is where the zip will be.
Does anyone have any ideas of how I could make this without wanting to poke out my eyes in frustration?

Thanks!  Grin

4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Screen Printing: Discussion and Questions / silk screeners in the uk - what light do you use for exposure? on: July 12, 2006 04:44:00 AM

I've been looking for ages for a light to use to expose my screens. Cos i havent got a lot of space in my tiny flat, i wanted something like a desk lamp that can hold a 150w bulb, but all the lamps i've looked at hold 60w max. What do you use?

 Smiley Thanks, Jemma x
5  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / first proper tshirt! on: June 15, 2006 03:43:55 PM
Hi,  I've been messing about with stencils for a little while, and i made my friend one to wear to a club night, and it got featured on the clubs website! woo (www.bangface.com)
here it is in all its glory (scuse his very drunken expression)

he's the lone raver cos he had to go all by himself, no-one else likes crazy industrial techno, or whatever it is
