1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / I made a Lemming on: August 05, 2008 12:32:04 PM
 I LOVE Lemmings.

The classic ones with horrible graphics, especially.

So I made one. Out of felt.  I modified the Poppet pattern ever-so-slightly, and came up with this:

Please excuse the Cat hair.. Kitty loves him as much as I do.. haha

Can I just say how much I LOVE the Poppet pattern? I have some fabric headed my way and am so anxious to make a TON more of them. Smiley

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Halter and coordinating floral skirt on: August 04, 2008 08:50:55 AM
Well, it's not QUITE completed.. skirt needs ironed and hemmed, and the top needs hemmed and a little finishing on the top back (I rolled under the hem just for the pictures.. quite crookedly, I might add), but I am darn proud of myself.  It's raw, but I love it!

Can't remember the pattern I used for the top, but I started it over a year ago. I will dig in my pattern stash and find the pattern number if anyone wants.  So glad I finally finished it.

But yeah. Haven't posted in a while, so there ya go. Smiley

 Comments and critique appreciated!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Yellow Submarine top Resize for Daughter on: May 01, 2007 12:04:12 AM
I have had this shirt for a little while.. but it had shrunken to a size that I will most likely not be able to fit in again, because of certain..endowments. Anyway, my daughter, like me, is a huge Beatles nut, and I decided this poor shirt deserved to be loved and worn again. Excuse the cheesy microsoft paint before and after.. and the strings.. I haven't trimmed them yet.. haha

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Maternity top redo on: April 22, 2007 01:51:45 PM
Soo I have two wonderful kids, and no plans for more, and I have some maternity clothes laying around begging to be reconstructed. It's not finished yet, I still need to finish the bottom hem and the sleeves, but I thought I would post for opinions as to if I should do anything else to it?

Don't mind the dress form.. the top kinda fits it funny..

Anyway, here it is.. opinions PLEAAASE!!

5  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Sweater Recon? on: August 02, 2006 04:28:43 PM
Howdy crafters! I was just wondering.. is cutting up an old sweater to make a shrug possible? If so, how would I fix the edges so that they don't unravel?

I have some sweaters that have mysteriously gotten shorter in the wash (my husband doing laundry is merely a coincidence) and would love to fix them into something cute..

 Thanks in advance!!

I know there has to be someone out there who can help me!!
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / My little Robot dude on: July 07, 2006 04:32:45 PM
Okay, so I have been inspired by the robots on this wonderful website. The knitted ones, the stuffies, the ones painted on shoes and t-shirts. So I made my own. I haven't named him yet, and bear with me because he is a little rough. He's made out of felt and stuffed with regular fiberfill. I hope you like. Comments and/or criticisms are very welcome! Thanks for lookin!
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / My home made dress form!! YAY!! on: May 29, 2006 10:49:07 PM
Okay.. I originally posted along with this thread : https://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=83490.msg898111#msg898111

We were all sharing our home made duct tape dress forms. Well, I covered mine with papier mache, put a felt cover on,  then put a muslin cover over it.. I had to resize it slightly to make it more accurate..The whole process took me a while. It is a little rough looking, but it's sturdy, easy to pin into, and it's a closer match to me than any store bought one could ever be. Yay for saving money!! So, here is the picture of it just in duct tape:

And here it is finished and on it's stand, and with a neck (my neck isn't really that big..I was a little off on that one..hehe)

 Now go easy on me..Smiley
8  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Sewing machine out of sync??? on: May 23, 2006 12:25:58 PM
 Hey craftsters!

I have a brother xl-2230 sewing machine.. and it hates me right now. I was sewing through multiple layers of denim on the regular needle (bad me!) and now it's all out of sync. Only way I can describe it is that when the bobbin carriage thing turns, it is out of sync with the top needle, and when the needle comes down, it hits the carriage, and gets stuck there.. they're turning at different times than they used to.

My needle got all bent.. I tried to look at it and figure it out, and would loooove to fix it myself if someone has an idea how to do it.. I don't want to bring it to the shop unless I haaaaaaave to. So.. cmon.. someone help me here!! THANKS!!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Painting clothes?? on: May 04, 2006 09:40:24 PM
 Hi all

I finally cut out a stencil I want to use on a shirt.. Now I am stuck. What kind of paint should I use on it? Does acrylic paint work okay on clothes? Or should I try spray paint? Or how about fabric paint? Any brands anyone can recommend?

 Thanks so much!!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Felting Question... on: April 21, 2006 09:02:31 PM
 Hey All

I wanted to try to make a knitted/felted bag this weekend, but can't find or figure out which knitting stitch is the best for the felting process, if any one is better..

Maybe someone here can let me in on that one?

 Thanks so much!
