2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Kin-D-Garten Floor Pillows -- Caution, Bright Colors! on: June 01, 2007 07:44:57 AM
I was on a pillow-making kick last year and I love everything I made.  Pillows are so satisfying because you can whip them up quickly.  I threw away my couch's back cushions and made large pillows as the new couch back.  I couldn't be happier with the results.

Beauty-ful.  A lovely professional job.  Very impressive.

what did you use to attach the music note fabric to the lampshade?  I am having trouble with spray adhesive and need to try something else.
5  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Re: ipod cozies from hell (very img heavy, sorry!) on: December 28, 2006 09:20:04 PM
I haven't attempted this project yet but suspect it would work better with hand sewing the felt.  I would use wool felt and a nice blanket stitch.  I use my machine for many, many things but it's hard to control the speed of the machine on something so small.  Also, the embroidery will come out so much better if done by hand.  It is very easy also!  Good luck

Those are so pretty.  I could make some of those to give as gifts.  Very nice idea.   Cheesy

I read on this board about making the large lipstick into a tampon.

I can't take credit for the idea.  I had lots of fun working on this project which I just presented to my friend for her birthday.

Here's a close-up of the tampon part:

Here's the back:

Close-up of the face:

I was laughing when I was making the tampon.  I just tied a knot and left a tail.  It was lots of fun and had lots of laughs about it.
8  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Re: Felt Handmade "Trees" Journal Book Cover with HAPPY BIRTHDAY photos of friends on: September 24, 2006 01:51:08 PM
Had to send a note to say how impressed I am.  So truly thoughtful and such a creative idea.  My favorite idea for these types of personized gifts is getting an old photo of the person and copying it and making it the cover to the card.  This works great for older relatives.  My mom has played the organ since she was a child so I found an old photo of her - instant birthday card.  I will definitely remember this birthday card you have made.
9  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Re: Pricing for towel hoodies on: September 13, 2006 02:05:20 PM
Hi, I have some of my own ideas for what I'd like to make.  I like your towel hoodie idea best.  I have personally made little washcloths for friends out of terrycloth from the fabric store.  I add vintage and interesting ribbons to make them one of a kind.  You should consider doing this with the towel hoodies.  I'd like to see how they turn out.

Thanks for letting me know what the pattern is called.  I found a picture and went from there.  Thanks for the kind words to everyone who commented.   Smiley
